Pure genius from the legendary Latimore – and a record that's a perfect illustration of the way the man could effortlessly mix blues roots, southern soul, and a whole new Miami groove for the 70s! The record is easily one of Latimore's best – and has these vocals that grab us right from the start – filled with feeling, and mixed with sublime lines on Fender Rhodes that inflect everything with a fresh, new sound – way different than any cluttered cliches of the previous few decades, in a style that few others have ever tried again! And in addition to Rhodes, Latimore also plays a bit of Hammond and melodica on the album too – the latter of which really furthers the laidback, trippy sound of the grooves – and which makes for one of the most unique TK albums of the time. Little Beaver plays guitar on the album – and in addition to the massive long album version of "Let's Straighten it Out", other tracks include "Ain't Nothin' You Can Do", "Put Pride Aside", "I Don't Know", "Ain't Nothing You Can Do", and "That's How It Is".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
