This image is a general representation of the item and the actual product may differ slightly in terms of color shading, logo placement, borders, or other small details. Used items may have various cosmetic differences as well.
We use the all-encompassing grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs because we only buy and offer used CDs in the best possible condition.
When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.
All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can
request a return
for a full refund.
Condition Notes
If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially
if it is release or packaging details,
or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the CD.
This might include, but isn't limited to, scratches, tracks that skip,
case/insert damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
A really great variation on the trio format in jazz – one that features the really unusual combination of the tenor of Heinz Sauer, piano of Peter Reiter, and vibes of Fritz Hartschuh – the last of whom is a really unique player who brings a heck of a lot to the session! Fritz has a ... CD
Murray's fronting a big band led by Butch Morris – a group that sounds a lot better to our ears than most of Morris' own larger groups of the time, possibly because of the style of the recording. The tracks shift mood, tone, and approach with each number – working out references to ... CD
Features Ted Brown on tenor, Jimmy Raney on guitar, and a great rhythm trio with Hod O'Brien on piano, Buster Williams on bass, and Ben Riley on drums! Titles include "Sir Felix", "Lost & Found", "Instant Blue", and "Blimey". CD
An all-star group – featuring John SCOfield, Joe LOvano, Dave HOlland, and Al FOster, hence the unusual name of the ensemble – all grooving in an angular mode that recalls the current Blue Note sound at its freshest. Lovano's edgey tenor and soprano work really make the session hold ... CD
One of Dollar Brand's first American recordings ever – and an excellent batch of trio tracks recorded under the supervision of Duke Ellington! Brand's in an early angular style here – with slight touches of late Ellington in his keyboard work, and bits of Monk thrown into the mix. ... CD
Important soundtrack work from Trent Reznor – working here in collaboration with Atticus Ross, in a mode that's nicely different than his music as Nine Inch Nails! There's definitely some of the bite of NIN – fuzzier electronics and some grit around the edges – but it's often ... CD
Brilliant material from George Tipton – an arranger who's best known for his late 60s work backing up Harry Nilsson, working here in a set that returns the favor by offering up fresh new versions of Nilsson's tunes! The style is almost funky jazz at points – thanks to the presence of ... CD
A record that's got a bit of a shift in the classic Cactus lineup – as the group's still driven strongly by the work of Carmine Appice on drums and Tim Bogert on bass, but get guitar power from Werner Fritzschings, who's a pretty amazing player – next to some added keyboards from Duane ... CD
A mix of rootsy rock and more sophisticated modes – played by a 70s group that features Dave Brubeck's son on a variety of different instruments! The group may well be best known for their work with the older Brubeck on other records – but they stand nicely on their own here too, ... CD
