I Sell The Dead

LP (Item 202974) Deep Focus, 2009 — Condition: Near Mint-
Gatefold
(Limited red/purple vinyl pressing from 2015. Cover has an unglued bottom seam.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Condition Notes

If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially if it is release or pressing details, or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

United Artists, 1969. Near Mint-
One of the lesser known John Barry soundtracks, to one of the lesser known Bond films – but a nice one! The record has a beautiful easy quality that's a bit different from some of Barry's other work, and which allies it a bit more with the Sound Gallery/Sound Spectrum sound of the late 60s. ... Riz Ortolani

Woman Times Seven
Capitol, Mid 60s. Near Mint-
This one's the score to an obscure comedy that starred Shirley Maclaine, Alan Arkin, Peter Sellers, and Michael Caine – and which was directed by Vittorio DeSica, working here in a far cry from The Bicycle Thief! Despite the goofy nature of the film, most of the tracks are in the range of ... LP, Vinyl record album

Piero Piccioni

Swept Away
Peters, 1975. Near Mint-
One of our favorite Italian soundtracks of the 70s – a wonderful score written by Piero Piccioni and conducted by Berto Pisano – easily our idea of heaven! The tunes are languid and laidback – moving in a way that's slow, yet often with an undercurrent of funk too – this ... LP, Vinyl record album

Joe Greene

On Her Bed Of Roses
Mira, Late 60s. Near Mint-
Amazing score to this equally amazing film about the "girl next door" who suffers from "Psychopathia Sexualis". The score is a mixture of themes – to capture the mixture of mood swings running through the patient in the film. Some tracks are raunchy and jazzy, other ... LP, Vinyl record album

Les Baxter/Mike Curb/The 13th Power

Wild In The Streets
Tower, 1968. Very Good Gatefold
Hilarious! This is the soundtrack to a goofy late 60s shocker film about the time when hippies and young folks would take over America. Les Baxter handled the musical score for the film, but the real treat is the schlocky rock tracks – written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, with ... LP, Vinyl record album
Poo, Early 70s. Near Mint-
Western work from Morricone – but with a feel that's perhaps a bit less dark than some of his other soundtracks in the genre – and it's groovy, evocative film music from the master! The album's got a nice title theme in English called "Home To My Love", and sung by Gino ... LP, Vinyl record album

Peter Herbolzheimer - MPS Rhythm Comb. & Brass

Power Play
MPS, 1973. Very Good
Classic funky MPS material from Peter Herbolzheimer and his legendary group of European and American ex-patriot players. The record grooves on hard and funkily, in a way that you'd hardly guess from a German bandleader – but which has become a favorite with groovers and jazz dancers ... LP, Vinyl record album

Stylistics

Rockin' Roll Baby
Avco, 1973. Very Good
The third album by The Stylistics – and a set that's still very much in the high-harmony territory of their first two classics! Thom Bell's still very firmly on deck this time around – arranging, producing, and writing a good deal of the material too – and the Sigma Sound ... LP, Vinyl record album

Little Beaver

When Was The Last Time
Cat, 1976. Very Good
An excellent album of smooth soul tracks – very different than Little Beaver's earlier work, but every bit as great! The album's got a warm, mellow finish that's almost a maturation of the sound that Beaver first forged on his Party Down album – with plenty of his deep soul vocals and ... LP, Vinyl record album

Dells

There Is
Cadet, 1968. Very Good
One of the coolest collaborations between the mighty Dells and the great arranger Charles Stepney – a studio talent who really brings some magic to their fantastic harmonies!
