(Rainbow label stereo pressing. Cover has ring and edge wear, discoloration from age, split top seam held with yellowed clear tape, splitting in the bottom seam, and some stains in back.)
Near Mint - (minus)
Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so.
These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play,
but might detract from the looks.
May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be
intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under
the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record.
(Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
Possible minor surface noise when played.
Condition Notes
If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially
if it is release or pressing details,
or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Pop-oriented stuff by Les, and very very mellow. The album is filled with lush romantic tracks, and is very different than his later exotica stuff. Titles are mostly standards, done in a fairly soporific way. Includes "Little White Lies", "Speak Low", "Thinking Of ... LP, Vinyl record album
Early work from Yma Sumac – with that moody mix of other worldly vocals and semi-Latin instrumentation that made her a popular one with the early exotic crowd. Yma runs up and down the vocal scale, while Moises Vivanco leads the band in a set of crashing dramatic orchestrations with a ... LP, Vinyl record album
Capitol 12" LP that features work from 2 earlier Yma Sumac 10" LPs – Voice of The Xtabay and Inca Taqui. Voice Of The Xtabay is one of her earliest Capitol albums, with classic arrangements by Les Baxter, of material that was written by Yma's Partner Moises Vivanco. Titles include ... Quite possibly our favorite album ever by the enigmatic Yma Sumac – thanks to some lively arrangements by Billy May, who gives the set a swinging jazzy groove! As you might guess from the cover, the style here is more in a Latin jazz mode than some of Yma's other more ethereal work – ... LP, Vinyl record album
(Mono pressing, still sealed. Shrinkwrap has a hole at the right side and is partially cracked at the seam. Cover has a center split in the bottom seam.)LP, Vinyl record album
A crazy hammond organ workout on a variety of standards and a few originals. This is smoking stuff that has a jazzy swinging feel, but is marked with the virtuosity implied by "13 fingers". Sort of like stuff by the John Buzon Trio. Also includes "Bach Goes Berserk", "Sir ... LP, Vinyl record album
Pretty darn nice later work from Martin Denny – a great batch of sexy tracks with stunning backings, and a really nice late 60s mellow piano groove! The great Nick DeCaro handled the arrangements, and gives the record a feel that's almost like A&M Records at times – with these nice ... LP, Vinyl record album
