Cities In Dust

LP (Item 198270) Bad Cat (Belgium), 1986 — Condition: Near Mint-
2LP
Recored at Forest National, Brussels, April 22, 1986.  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Once Upon Time/The Singles
PVC, 1981. Near Mint-
If you're looking to start with Siouxsie & The Banshees, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better place to start than here – as the collection brings together all the classic cuts that first made the group a legend – from their earliest, punkiest material, to the tracks in which ... Atlantic, 1969. Very Good+ Gatefold
An album so heavy, it blew plenty of minds when first released at the end of the 60s! This set's the first-ever utterance from the King Crimson empire – the initial outing of the group, which featured Greg Lake on vocals, and lots of airy, darkly atmospheric guitar from the legendary Robert ... Thrill Jockey, 2006. Sealed
Rootsy noise sweetened by raggedly alluring melodicism from Califone – still one of the most vital and idiosyncratic groups of their time! We can no long heap the experimentalist tag on Califone – if we ever really could. They've got quite a sonic blueprint laid down after 8 or so ... LP, Vinyl record album

Jeff Carney

Live Electronic Music
Audio File/Lion, 1989. Near Mint-
An incredible album of electronic music – and one that definitely lives up to its title, as every selection is played live – quite a unique thing as the set was recorded at a time when programming was really beginning to take hold! In a way, Jeff Carney is evoking that first great ... LP, Vinyl record album

Rickie Lee Jones

Rickie Lee Jones
Warner, 1979. Very Good+
This early album still has an undeniable power – and was a great breath of fresh air, at a time when it seemed like most of modern music was forgetting its roots! What is it with the LA scene from the 60s onward that they always seemed to find their best inspiration in the past? Artists ... LP, Vinyl record album

Lemon Pipers

Jungle Marmalade
Buddah, 1968. Very Good+
Late 60s Buddah pop at its best, with a surprisingly symphonic sound at times! Paul Leka arranged and produced the group, as he did on their great first effort – and there's a heck of a lot more going on here than you might guess from the group's few familiar oldies. Titles include "Win ... LP, Vinyl record album

Bee Gees

Idea
Atco, 1968. Very Good+
Things are getting slightly more complicated for the Bee Gees here – but we mean that in a good way! The vocals are superb – soaring forth with this unique sort of majesty, and light years away from their 70s disco pop styles – and the backings are a strange mix of rootsy and ... Dizzy Gillespie

New Wave
Philips, 1962. Near Mint-
A lost bossa jazz classic from Dizzy Gillespie – recorded at a time when Lalo Schifrin was working in his combo! The record's got a cool, laidback kind of groove – one that's miles away from Gillespie's earlier bop work, and which shows him opening up his rhythmic conception strongly ... LP, Vinyl record album

Jackie McLean

One Step Beyond
Blue Note, 1963. Very Good-
An amazing album – simply groundbreaking, and a key turn for Jackie McLean! Colpix, Early 60s. Sealed
A fantastic Randy Weston album – and one of the albums that really showed the world all the new ideas he was cooking up in jazz!
