Cities In Dust

LP (Item 198270) Bad Cat (Belgium), 1986 — Condition: Near Mint-
2LP
Recored at Forest National, Brussels, April 22, 1986.  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Condition Notes

If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially if it is release or pressing details, or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Yoko Ono

Fly
Apple, Early 70s. Very Good+ 2LP Gatefold
Pretty wild work from Yoko Ono – a mixture of straight rock tunes and some very experimental numbers, a few of which sound so much like New York No Wave tunes from a decade later that we have to admit we're pretty darn shocked! In fact, we'd dare say the record's better than anything ... LP, Vinyl record album

Life after Peter Gabriel – with Phil Collins doing a surprisingly great job on vocals – free from all the tripe of later years! XTC

Mummer
Virgin (UK), 1982. Very Good+
A really beautiful record from XTC – one that seemed to unlock a slightly deeper spirit in the songwriting of Andy Partridge, and which also introduced some vaguely pastoral elements the group never had at the start! The style here is a bit hard to describe easily – still as catchy as ... LP, Vinyl record album

Miles Davis

Sketches Of Spain
Columbia, 1960. Very Good+
A beautiful collaboration between Miles Davis and the great Gil Evans – and perhaps the most perfectly realized of all their projects! Come Together
World Pacific, 1970. Very Good+
Two of LA's best soul jazz talents team up in this set of funky tracks with a good LA studio groove to them. Isley Brothers

Givin' It Back
T Neck, 1971. Very Good+ Gatefold
A very weird, but very beautiful album by the Isleys – one in which they move into a folksy rock groove, and play acoustic guitars in long spiralling soulful versions of some of their favorite rock hits! The sound's a bit like Terry Callier or Bill Withers, but it's also still got that sexy ... LP, Vinyl record album
