(In a slip-case set, still sealed in clean shrink.)
Sealed
This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
A very groovy heist soundtrack! Vic Mizzy did a rare few albums under his own name – and this soundtrack is a great little gem that mixes jazzy bits with more bossa and Latin inflected numbers. There's a lot of electric guitar on the set, sometimes played with a Spanish flair – and ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the best-remembered moments of music from the enigmatic Vangelis – a set that's maybe a bit darker and more moody than some of his other records of the time – thanks to the Blade Runner setting provided by director Ridley Scott! Vangelis works plenty of familiar early 80s ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the trippiest soundtracks of the 60s – a wonderful blend of psych tracks from The Electric Flag, and moogier electronic moments from the great Paul Beaver! The Flag are at their best here – playing tunes that move from short bursts of fuzz to longer jams – laid out with ... LP, Vinyl record album
Essential! This is the landmark album that forever put saxophonist Joe Harriott on the map, and it's a brilliant batch of tracks that prove that Harriott was advancing the jazz avant garde in England as much as players like Ornette Coleman and Cecil Taylor were advancing it in America. Despite ... LP, Vinyl record album
The legendary Roscoe Mitchell works here in the more sophisticated compositional style he's been exploring heavily in later decades – joined by the Ostravska Banda ensemble in a large version of "Distant Radio Transmission" – a piece that was first created as an improvisation ... Tremendous work from singer Helen Merrill – one of the few 50s vocalist who seems to get better and better with age! The set has Helen working with arrangements from the great Torrie Zito – a legendary talent for scoring sophisticated backdrops during the 60s, of a sort that really ... LP, Vinyl record album
Maybe one of the most famous records ever from master drummer Art Blakey – in part because of the cover, which has come to stand for the Blue Note aesthetic of the 60s! But despite that famous image, the music is more than worthy of attention – as the group features that unusual sextet ... LP, Vinyl record album
