This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Some of the last recordings ever made by Otis Redding – produced by Steve Cropper in mid 1967, but not issued by Atlantic until after Otis' tragic early death! Jimmy James and his Vagabonds were a UK group, but they scored nicely in the US with this classic Atlantic side, which was licensed from Pye UK. The record includes their own big hit "Come To Me Softly", plus a number of other soul covers – like "I'm Just A Fool For You ... LP, Vinyl record album
A stellar record from Ben E King – and one of a few early 60s gems that really have him leaving a longstanding mark on soul music! There's a balance here that's unbelievable – a quality that's emotive right from the start, yet also perfectly put together too – with Ben's ... LP, Vinyl record album
Not Sweet Soul, but deep soul – courtesy of one of the best artists recording for Atlantic Records in the 60s! The album's way more than a similarly-titled follow up to Conley's debut for the label – and stands beautifully on its own with a host of great numbers that are right up there ... A great bit of soul from Clarence Reid – otherwise known as Blowfly – and a key album in the Miami scene at the end of the 60s! That's a really creepy puppet on the cover – but the set's a classic collection of R&B from the mighty End label! Titles include "7-11" by the Gone Allstars with Buddy Lucas on tenor, "Song In My Heart" by The Dubs, "Wait A Minute" by Jo-Ann Campbell, "T ... LP, Vinyl record album
A crowning achievement from Lakeside – one of the key albums to link Ohio funk roots with a smoother LA groove – all served up in a way that had limitless influence for years to come! After first breaking into the soul business as a mellow southern-styled singer cut by Rick Hall in the classic Fame mode of Muscle Shoals, Candi made a wise move to the Hotlanta sound and hooked up with producer Dave Crawford for this runaway hit album from the mid 70s!
