Reencuentro Entre Soneros

LP (Item 180832) Siboney (Cuba), 1987 — Condition: Very Good+
Features the group with Raul Planas – on titles that include "Male Male", "La Mulata Revoltosa", "Que Ritmo Que Sabor", "Soy Tu Amor Soy Tu Castigo", and "Voy Del Monte Al Llano".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover has some light wear and a tiny bit of pencil. Vinyl is nice.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Mr Bongo
Clarion, Early 60s. Very Good+
A rare bit of Latin jazz from this mighty percussionist – the man also known to the world as Mr Bongo! Fania All-Stars

Spanish Fever
Columbia, 1978. Very Good+
A fresh new groove from The Fania All Stars – one that definitely has them picking up some of the Spanish elements mentioned in the title – the fusing them into the tight mix of Latin, club, and jazz they were doing at Columbia Records in the late 70s! These new elements are often ... LP, Vinyl record album

Willie Rodriguez

Bunch Of Bongos
Grand Award, 1960. Very Good
A driving session of big band Latin, with some really nice moments, and some particularly strong percussion on the best tracks. According to the notes, Ray Barretto and Johnny Pacheco are on the album – but we don't see enough evidence to totally believe that. Titles include "Mambo ... LP, Vinyl record album

An overlooked late 60s treasure on Blue Note – one of the few new groups to work on the label at the time, and an up-and-coming modern combo from Detroit!
