Gold Experience (EU pressing)

LP (Item 178547) Warner, 1995 — Condition: Near Mint-
2LP
Also available
Prince — Gold Experience ... CD 2.99
A great return to form for Prince – even though at the time, we all had to refer to him with an unpronounceable symbol! There's a lean, funky vibe to most of the record – almost a step back to the unified group approach of his mid 80s classics – and even though a few sonic elements have been updated, they changes have been done in the best way possible – partly by absorbing some of the new pop psychedelic touches that Prince himself had unlocked back in the 80s, filtered into the work of others, and which are taken back here with great modifications that really sound great next to the grooves! Titles include "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World", "We March", "Now", "319", "Billy Jack Bitch", "Eye Hate U", "P Control", and "Shy" – plus a number of short "NPG Operator" tracks. Promo-only vinyl pressing features a full side of bonus material – five different mixes of "Eye Hate U".  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Original EU pressing with Alsdorf stamp. Includes the printed inner sleeves. Cover has lightly bent corners and some remnants from the hype sticker.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Tower Of Power
Warner, 1973. Near Mint-
One of the harder funk albums by Tower Of Power – done with a hard-driving horn-heavy groove, slathered up in East Bay Grease! Daydreaming
Warner, 1987. Near Mint-
Morris Day at the height of his 80s fame – working away from The Time, but in a groove that's still got plenty of Minneapolis funk!
