Beautiful Roost work from Sonny! Like all of his albums on the label, this one's a beautiful batch of mature bop tracks, featuring a solo approach that is totally solid, and totally well-conceived. Stitt's work by this time is always a treat – mixing soul jazz touches ... LP, Vinyl record album

One of the best early albums cut by John Lewis as a leader – a set that's a fair bit different than John's work with the Modern Jazz Quartet – thanks to strong guest appearances from players who include Paul Gonsalves and Benny Golson on tenor sax, Eric Dolphy on alto, Jim Hall on ... LP, Vinyl record album
A stunner of an album – and one that definitely draws plenty power from the double drummers in the lead! The set's way different than most of Elvin Jones' other work of the time – and is even more hard-hitting than some of the Philly Joe Jones sessions too – and, unusual for ... LP, Vinyl record album
Herbie Mann got a standing ovation for this performance – at least if the title is to be believed – and considering the grooves on the set, it was all for very good reason!
