All The Hits By Dee Dee Sharp

LP (Item 17429) Cameo, Mid 60s — Condition: Very Good

Well, they certainly got the title right on this one! Dee Dee sings all the hits (or some of them, at least!) in her youthful gutsy soul style. Tracks include "Snap Your Fingers", "Seven Day Weekend", "Playboy", "Don't Play That Song", "Village Of Love", "Loco-Motion", and "The Wah-Watusi". Production's uncredited, but it's in the usual stormin' Cameo/Parkway vein!  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover has some aging.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Cameo, 1963. Very Good+
A soulful classic from The Orlons – a wonderful vocal group that mixed together the sweet harmonies of three female singers, and one bass-heavy male! Three girls and a guy – and one of the greatest 60s soul groups to ever come out of Philly! Dramatic Jackpot
ABC, 1975. Sealed Gatefold
One of the Dramatics' best albums, and a real masterpiece of 70's group soul! One of the few full albums ever cut by The Masqueraders – a stellar vocal group who recorded some excellent singles in the 60s, and were fortunate enough to be pulled into the big time by Isaac Hayes for his Hot Buttered Soul imprint on ABC! Latin inflected club grooves by the legendary El Coco – a fantastic group who often worked with the same sort of spacey elements that you'd find in work from the P&P family of labels! One of the few cases in jazz where an oft-played classic still resonates with power!
