Genius jangle pop from the 60s – great harmonies, tight guitars, and a sound that's familiar but always fresh – the kind of record that should have rivaled bigger hits by The Monkees or Strawberry Alarm Clock! The Five Americans were an incredibly tight group even for their time – a combo who'd learned lessons from The Beach Boys, but kept the rougher energy of their Texas scene – in a way that mixed sweetness with edges, and managed to do a tremendous amount with very little instrumentation or larger arrangements.
