LJ Reynolds' sounding great on his own here – stepping strongly away from his work with The Dramatics, and emerging as one of the best male soul acts of the early 80s! The groove here is a nice extension of his earlier group work – still produced by Don Davis in a mode that's ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the many chapters of Jimi's career before his famous Experience recordings – a set of hard rocking soul tracks with singer Curtis Knight, recorded in a really lively sort of party feel! Sun's got less of the Earth Wind & Fire touches of their early years here, and are sliding ... LP, Vinyl record album
A sublime early album by the Soul Children – proof that they were one of the best southern soul groups ever! Genesis has the group grooving in a raw Memphis sound, similar to their earlier recordings – but with a bit more sophistication and care on the vocals than before, reaching for ... A local WAKE radio version of this classic compilation – and a collection of some Chess singles from the late 50s and the beginning of the 60s. There are some familiar tunes such as "We Belong Together" by Robert & Johnny, "Book Of Love" by Montones plus others like ... LP, Vinyl record album
A beautiful jazzy classic, and perhaps Gil Scott-Heron's most perfectly realized album ever! The record has a completely sophisticated jazzy approach – one that's miles ahead from even Gil's previous work on Flying Dutchman, and which shows him to be one of the most distinctive and emotive ...
