Fun & Funk (parts 2 & 3)

7-inch (Item 15711) Tories, Early 70s — Condition: Fair
Out Of Stock

7-inch, Vinyl record

✈

This single's floating around in 2 different versions – one with "Fun & Funk part 2", plus another track; and this one, with the rare part 3. Both sides have a very stripped down bubbling funky instrumental groove, with some nice hard drums, and very heavy bass. "Part 3" adds some nice fuzzy guitar, which creates an even stronger psychedelic edge, that then drops out to let the funk come through. Nice stuff, with great production!  © 1996-2021, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Label has some wear and marker.)

Fair

This is a grade we rarely use, as we try not to sell records in very bad condition, though in some rare cases we will list a record in such bad shape that it does not conform to the standards above. A "Fair" record will have enough marks or significant flaws that it does not even qualify as "Good", but is a copy you might consider for playing, if you're willing to put up with noise and/or flaws. An example might be a recording with surface noise so heavy that it is equal to the volume of the music. For records listed as "Fair", we will describe the extent of the condition in the comments.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Eva/Take Yo' Praise
BGP (UK), Early 70s. Near Mint-
2 funky sample classics - back to back on one 45! "EVA" is one of the greatest tracks ever by Jean Jacques Perry – a mad mix of snapping beats, spacey moog, and these cool bell tones – sampled famously by Gang Starr, but even funkier straight up in this original mix! "Ta ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

Two rockin instrumentals with heavy sax and organ work! "Late Date" has a nice creeping feel that's in keeping with the name – a bit R&B-ish, with a good kind of jazz club groove! "Get It" has a lighter touch on the keys, but is still quite nice – with a ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

R-Stash (Rasputin Stash)

Booty March (mono, stereo)
Curtom, 1978. Very Good+
A slow and bass-heavy funk number from Rasputin Stash – moving along at a pace that's prefaces much of the early 80s LA bass funk, and done with a sound that's heavier and much more in a Chicago soul vein. There's a solid ensemble approach here – with lots of P-Funk touches, as you ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

Rare 60s work from Brenner's Folk – a Spanish group who later changed their name to Pic Nic, and had a lot more success in that format!
