Cheetah Beat

LP (Item 15695) Imperial, Late 60s — Condition: Used
Out Of Stock

LP

One of Sandy Nelson's best albums from the late 60's! The best tracks have a good fuzzy psychedelic sound to them, which is a new twist on Sandy's drum-heavy instrumental style. Includes the nice long track "Freak Beat", plus "Good Thing", "Pandora's Golden Heebie Jeebies", and "Happenings Ten Years Time Ago". (Stereo pressing. Cover has a cutout hole & some aging.)  © 1996-2016, Dusty Groove, Inc.

We realize that there are many different interpretations of the standard grades used for pre-owned vinyl record albums & CD, so we thought we'd offer you the ones that we are working with, so you have an idea what we mean when we give the grade for a non-new item on our pages.

Used Vinyl Grades

Below are stated conditions for a used vinyl records at Dusty Groove. Grading for the cover should be assumed to be near (within a "+" or "-") the grading for the vinyl. If there is significant divergence from the condition of the vinyl, or specific flaws, these will be noted in the comments section of the item. However, please be aware that since the emphasis of this site is towards the music listener, our main concern is with the vinyl of any used item we sell. Additionally, please note that all of our records are graded visually; considering the volume of used vinyl we handle, it is impossible for us to listen to each record. If we spot any significant flaws, we make every attempt to listen through them and note how they play.

The following grading conditions apply to the vinyl component of an album or single:

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

RCA, 1958. Very Good+
One of the most memorable Esquivel albums, and perhaps the first record that really let him hit his fantastic mix of off-beat orchestrations and spacey electronicized production! The arrangements are splendid, with echoey piano lines in the front that seem to trail off into the stratosphere. ... LP, Vinyl record album

Capitol, Mid 60s. Very Good
Breezy bossa nova – Hollywood 60s style! One of Al Hirt's grooviest records – and a set that definitely lives up to the "soul" in the title! The album's always in demand for the excellent sample cut "Harlem Hendoo", but it certainly isn't a one tracker – thanks to composer Paul Griffin and arranger Teacho ... LP, Vinyl record album

Moog Power
RCA, 1969. Very Good
A groovy moogy classic! This was one of the first records to apply the moog sound in a pop idiom in a major way – and boy, is it a resounding success with us! This is one of Mort Garson's craziest moog records ever, or as the label says: "Moog Goes Supernatural with Eerie Electronics". Jackie Gleason's soundtrack for "that moment" of love, lust, whatever.
