Catalyst

LP (Item 15412) Ovation, 1973 — Condition: Sealed

Early 70s set by the legendary Willie Dixon – recorded in Chicago with stellar backing by Lafayette Leake, Buster Benton, Mighty Joe Young, Phil Upchurch, and Louis Satterfield – and true to the album's title, this is kind of a catalyst for the sound of electric blues in Chicago clubs for years to come! Willie does a lot of his classics like "Wang Dang Doodle", "Bring It On Home", "My Babe", and "When I Make Love" and after all these years, we're coming to love this period a lot more, not only for Willie Dixon, but for the snapshot of the once far more fertile scene. Also includes "God's Gift To Man", "Hoo Doo Doctor", "But It Sure Is Fun", "I Think I Got The Blues" and more.  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Original stereo/quad pressing.)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
