Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs. This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer used CDs in the best possible condition.

When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.

Califone

Roomsound
Thrill Jockey, 2001. Used
Thrill Jockey reissue of the great early Califone album – originally issued on the group's own Perishable label in 2001! Califone was essentially born when Tim Rutili & company shed much of the heaving, murky rock riffery that characterized their earlier work in the 90s Chicago heroes ... CD

Sweet Nothing (UK), 1988. Used
Classic late 80s underground rock from Dinosaur Jr – creaky, emotional vocals and blazing, yet raw guitars – you can definitely hear in this record the sound that was going to bust into the mainstream in a huge way several years later. It's pretty amazing to think that what Dino Jr was ... CD

John & Beverly Martyn

Stormbringer (with bonus tracks)
Island (Japan), 1970. Used
The first album John Martyn cut with wife Beverly – a nicely laidback effort that has the two of them sharing vocal chores, trading off from tune to tune in a really great way! We like John's work so much we're surprised how much we welcome Beverly here – but she really keeps the ... CD
Hollywood, 1974. Used
The third album from Queen, and maybe the record that finally had the rest of the world paying attention to their sound – as the set elevates the quartet past any sort of proggish roots, and unleashes the pop power that would come to dominate their music in the 70s! Make no mistake, the ... CD

Ran Blake

Film Noir
Novus/International Phonograph, 1980. Used Gatefold
One of the most evocative albums we've ever heard from pianist Ran Blake – a set that's got all the sharp edges of some of his most adventurous solo work, but one that also has Ran working in a few different settings, often with a very poetic feel! The set's not a hokey retro-crime record ... CD
