Reach Out

LP (Item 14550) A&M, 1967 — Condition: Sealed
Also available
Burt Bacharach — Reach Out ... CD 12.99

Fantastic! We love Burt Bacharach in so many ways that it's easy to forget the genius of these early A&M sides – but going back to them is always a treat, and it's wonderful to hear the way that Burt lays down his own work when given the chance! You know the tracks – "House Is Not A Home", "Bond Street", "Reach Out For Me", "Are You There", "Windows Of The World" – but you may not know the arrangements, which are superb – quite different than the more famous vocal versions you've probably heard ad infinitum, and recorded at a level that brings a whole new magic and majesty to 60s pop! An essential record for any fan of all things groovy – and an album of new pleasures each time we hear it!  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Stereo pressing.)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Dick Hyman

Age Of Electronicus
Command, 1969. Near Mint- Gatefold
Nice one! This is one of Dick Hyman's most fantastic LPs, and the one that includes some of his best moogy playing. With the very funky club cut "Give It Up Or Turn It Loose", plus "Both Sides Now", "Kolumbo", "Time Is Tight", and "Green Onions". LP, Vinyl record album

Groovy electronic pop stuff from the great Command label! Not as wild as Dick Hyman, but still pretty darn nice, and with a good groovy feel, accented by some nice "Latin" touches. Titles include "Girl From Ipanema", "Dansero", "Look Of Love", "Hare ... LP, Vinyl record album

Dick Hyman

Mirrors
Command, Late 60s. Near Mint- Gatefold
Pre-moog – but still very nice, and an album of oddly-arranged tracks that features Hyman on both organ and piano! The format's a straight trio, but the arrangements open the tracks up more than you expect – and take the songs past their simple cover versions. Includes a groovy ... LP, Vinyl record album
