A set that definitely takes its title seriously, and which is heavily focused on tunes from the most righteous years of soul music – very heavy on late 60s/early 70s gems from American indie labels, including some killer tracks from the Ronn/Jewel/Paula family of labels! As the title indicates, there's some older and newer work on the set, but that's just a few tracks – and overall, there's a very hip late 60s sound to the whole thing – cuts from that moment when pride and power were really taking over, and bringing strong new righteous currents to the music!
