I Believe (Pure Gold Series)

LP (Item 142027) RCA (Canada), Mid 50s — Condition: Very Good+
(70s Canadian pressing. Cover has a small rip on the opening with a spot of clear tape.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Quire (Christine Legrand)

Quire
RCA, 1976. Sealed
A very groovy little record! Quire is a harmony group led by Christine Legrand – sister of Michel Legrand, and ex-member of similar groups The Swingle Singers and Les Double Six. The music on the set is very much like that of the latter – in that it's harmony vocal versions of famous ... LP, Vinyl record album

A surprising bit of genius from Vic Damone – an album done in a mature, adult, easy-going style that we really love! RCA, Late 60s. Near Mint-
A great little collection of Nina's work for RCA during the late 60s – a mixture of mellower jazzy grooves, folksy soul, and some fuller-arranged styles handled by Sammy Lowe and Horace Ott. Dinah Shore

Bouquet Of Blues
RCA, 1956. Near Mint-
Dinah Shore's definitely got a bouquet of blues here – thanks to some backings that echo the moody, late nite image on the cover! Toni Harper

Night Mood
RCA, 1960. Near Mint-
A great singer, and a real standout album that's sadly been lost beneath the shifting sands of time! Matt Dennis

She Dances Overhead
RCA, 1955. Very Good+
Dreamy vocals from Matt Dennis – a set of Rodgers & Hart numbers, performed in a sweetly swaying style that has plenty of warm touches. An excellent album of vocals by the great Joe Williams! Joe's always been a fine singer, but with Basie, he really gets the backing he needs to do his work the best.
