Interpreta Las Canciones De La Pelicula "La Violetera"

LP (Item 138671) Hispavox (Argentina), 1958 — Condition: Very Good
...

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Mongo Santamaria

All Strung Out
Columbia, 1970. Very Good+
Killer Latin soul from Mongo! At some level, it might be hard to keep track of his late 60s sides for Columbia – but all you have to know is that they're all great, filled with pop Latin soul grooves that pushed way past his contemporaries, dancing around the conga with tight arrangements by ... Columbia, 1962. Very Good+
Joe Quijano was one of the greatest all-around Latin bandleaders of the early 60s – and this rare session for Columbia shows him capably moving through a wide range of material, from mambo, to bossa, to cha cha cha! The bossa material is especially interesting – in that it's got more ... LP, Vinyl record album

Willie Bobo

Spanish Blues Band
Verve, Late 60s. Very Good+
Forget the "blues" in the title – this is another one of Willie Bobo's groovy Latin soul albums for Verve, with a good set of New York soul arrangements by Bert Keyes, Bert DeCoteaux, and Sonny Henry. Willie does a number of soul covers, like "Bad Bad Whiskey", "Walk ... LP, Vinyl record album

Chango

Chango
ABC, 1975. Near Mint- Gatefold
Heady work from Chango – a 70s combo with a style that's right in keeping with the Chicano Rock scene in LA! The group mix together a swirling blend of guitars, organ, and percussion – clearly inspired by Santana, but with rootsier touches, and a bit more energy to groove openly. Most ... Joe Loco

Bravo Loco
Tico, Mid 60s. Very Good+
Joe's firey Latin piano turns towards a number of tracks that are best known as standards, but which are given a nice Latiny tinge here in this classic Tico session. Titles include "Lover", "Cuban Nightingale", "Body & Soul", "September In the Rain", ... LP, Vinyl record album

Discos Fuentes/Domino Sound, Mid 50s/1960s/Mid 70s. Near Mint-
Incredible sounds from the legendary Discos Fuentes – Colombia's powerhouse of musical magic for the past 50 years – presented here on some of the rootsier recordings from the label's early years! The styles here include a fair bit of cumbia – but always in the earlier, folksier ... LP, Vinyl record album

Hard to tell if these are new versions of songs, or simply ones lifted from Barry's UA soundtracks – but from the notes and the music, the album seems to be a unique one. Io Emmanuelle
CAM (Italy), 1969. Near Mint-
A really beautiful little soundtrack – and one that's quite different than all of the other late 70s scores that circulated under the Emmanuelle name!
