Touch

LP (Item 13738) Columbia, Late 60s — Condition: Very Good+
Late 60s genius from electronician Morton Subotnick – a spare and extended piece that's filled with plenty of great analogue bits! The feel of the work is very bubbling and rhythmic – electronic notes clattering together with a really earthy feel – then sliding into more spacey moments that have an intense, almost evil sort of quality. Great stuff – and proof that Subotnick was still one of the strongest talents of his generation at this sort of set!  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Folkways, 1961. Very Good
Wonderful early electronic works by Tod Dockstader – with a turgid sound that's very reminiscent of some of the early French Musique Concrete recordings from the 50s.
