Bowie 1980 – All Clear

LP (Item 134046) RCA, 1970s — Condition: Very Good+
A promo-only album from RCA – one that celebrates David Bowie's comeback to the mainstream at the start of the 80s – with titles that include "Panic In Detroit", "Always Crashing In The Same Car", "1984", "Golden Years", "Boys Keep Swinging", "Heroes", "Ziggy Stardust", "Space Oddity", "Fascination", and "The Man Who Sold The World".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(White label promo. Cover has light wear and a small seam split.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

David Bowie

Aladdin Sane
RCA, 1973. Near Mint- Gatefold
One of our favorite David Bowie albums ever! Aladdin Sane was a real turning point for Bowie – recorded on the heels of the tremendously popular Ziggy Stardust album, but really pushing the boundaries past the more straight-ahead rock and glam of that record. Instead of just sitting on his ... LP, Vinyl record album

David Bowie

Space Oddity
RCA, 1969. Very Good+
An amazing departure for David Bowie – hardly the kind of record you would expect from his oboe-filled tunes of a few years before – and really the start of the groundbreaking, earthshaking, reinventionist era of his genius! There's a spacious, soaring quality to Space Oddity that's ... LP, Vinyl record album

David Bowie

Hunky Dory
RCA, 1971. Near Mint-
Quite possibly David Bowie's first complete moment of genius – an incredibly-formed album that's filled with tunes beyond definition and description! There's still some traces of the earlier madman in the mix, but the overall sound is much more rock-heavy – although not without the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Harry Nilsson

Aerial Ballet
RCA, 1968. Sealed
Beautiful early work from the great Harry Nilsson – and exactly the kind of record that set him apart right from the start! The tunes are playful, wonderful, and very quirky – yet still sung with this sense of earnestness that sets Nilsson apart from most of the rest of his generation ... LP, Vinyl record album

Lou Reed

Transformer
RCA, 1972. Sealed
Not the first solo album from Lou Reed, but definitely the one that established him as a major force away from the Velvet Underground – and a record that still stands as one of the best from this groundbreaking early 70s moment in music! Part of the record's strength is its resonance with ... LP, Vinyl record album

(Early 70s UK pressing. Cover has some ringwear, edge wear, and is bent at the edges and corners.) LP, Vinyl record album
RCA, 1974. Near Mint-
Lou Reed at his mid 70s live peak! Volumes have already been and will continue to be written about Lou's output in the 70s, and rightly so. This set is particularly amazing in that it follows the artful highpoint/financial failure that is Berlin – so Lou is doing the rock & roll star ... LP, Vinyl record album

Kinks

Soap Opera
RCA, 1975. Sealed Gatefold
One of the highest-concept of all 70s Kinks album – a dark exploration of fame and the price of success, done as a mini-rock opera starring Norman & The Starmaker! As with some of these sets, the best tunes here are those that are the most subtle and less dramatic – and which ... LP, Vinyl record album

Harry Nilsson

Point!
RCA, 1971. Near Mint- Gatefold
One of greatest moments of genius by pop vocals eccentric Harry Nilsson – the classic early 70s "story" album The Point – perhaps is most imaginative work! The Point is a weird tale of a kid whose head was differently shaped than the rest of his townsfolk (hey, we're not ... LP, Vinyl record album
