Serie 2 Em 1 – Canta Para O Mundo Vols 1 & 2

CD (Item 131512) BMG (Brazil), 1962/1963 — Condition: Used
Out Of Stock

2 early albums by Brazilian singer Angela Maria – both of them with a similar theme. Maria sings songs of the world, interpreting Latin material from a variety of sources – working with heavy orchestral backings that are augmented by percussion work, and recorded in a very cool echoey way to emphasize the drama of the material. Titles include "Tabu", "Vivere", "Eu Nao Disse", "Ate Breve", "Seus Olhos", "O Blihete", "Foi Deus", "Rio, Meu Amor", "O Arlequim De Toledo", "Amor De Carnaval", and "Cha Cha Cha Da Moca". 24 tracks in all.  © 1996-2023, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs. This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer used CDs in the best possible condition.

When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.

RCA/BMG (Brazil), 1977. Used
A pretty darn sweet vocal session from the duo of Miucha and Antonio Carlos Jobim – recorded with lots of bossa overtones, very much the same spirit as the legendary Elis & Tom album of the mid 70s! Chico Buarque participates in the session, and Jobim even lends his vocal talents to a ... CD

New work by Arnaldo Antunes – one of Brazil's most captivating talents of the past 10 years, and an artist with a penchant for cross-cultural collaboration, in the mode of Lenine or Carlinhos Brown. The set was actually produced by Brown, and has all the angular madness of some of Antunes' ... CD

This second collaboration between these two great talents is every bit as wonderful as the first – a great later set of bossa-revival work, done by Tom Jobim and Miucha in a similar mode to his earlier work with Elis Regina! The set was recorded in New York, with spacious production from the ... CD

A sublime 70s groover from the great Tamba Trio! This one works off of the expanded sound that the bossa jazz combo were forging on their late 60s work for CTI – adding in some more complicated arrangements by Luiz Eca to the regular piano/bass/percussion groove, pushing the sound into a ... CD
