This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Maybe the greatest record so far from the lovely Esperanza Spalding – a set that has her moving farther from jazz, into a wonderfully warm style of soul music overall! The mix of modes is exquisite – a blend of Spalding's jazz-trained vocals with some beautiful arrangements that ... LP, Vinyl record album
We're not really sure how we feel about this project, as it's a bunch of modern jazz lite players doing versions of hip hop hits. What's even more ironic is that some of the tunes they're covering looped up bits of stuff by their peers, like Jeff Lorber. There's some players involved here who've ... LP, Vinyl record album
A great set by Korean jazz singer Ann Sally – recorded with a gentle mellow finish, and some sweet Brazilian touches! Ann sings in both Portuguese and English – running through a host of tracks that includes classics by Ivan Lins, Marcos Valle, Joni Mitchell, Henry Mancini, and Roberto ... LP, Vinyl record album
A wonderful blend of acoustic soul, gentle jazz, and bossa – a beautiful little album from Ann Sally, who you may remember as the sublime vocalist on Soul Bossa Trio's Dolphins album! The record has Ann working with small combo backing that features an acoustic guitar in the lead – ... LP, Vinyl record album
Elliott Smith's masterful first album for the majors – and one of the most creatively fruitful leaps from the indie rock realm to the big leagues of the 90s – or ever! At his earlier solo best, Elliot managed to make really powerful, emotionally resonant songs in rawer, starker settings ... LP, Vinyl record album
A classic set from the legendary Ian Dury & The Blockheads! Ian's gravelly-voiced stories and gibberish are backed by loose, funky and sarcastic post disco/soul backing by the Blockheads – in a mad mix of styles that had a huger audience than anyone might have expected at the time. ... LP, Vinyl record album
A surprisingly wonderful solo album from Jack Bruce – one that's got a tighter approach to the songwriting, and done in a strange jazz-rock-folk style that at times recalls the early work of Roy Wood, or some of the later work of Tim Hardin. The album's got a strangely personal feel – ... LP, Vinyl record album
The Rascals' last album for Atlantic Records – and a set that has the combo relying more than ever on the talents of organist Felix Cavaliere! There's a great New York blend of rock and soul going on in the set – a confident, soaring sort of approach to the tunes that's past caring ... LP, Vinyl record album
