Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs. This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer used CDs in the best possible condition.

When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.

Ramsey Lewis & Nancy Wilson

Two Of Us
Columbia (Japan), 1984. Used
Ramsey Lewis and Nancy Wilson – two key soulful talents from the 60s, working together beautifully here in a mid 80s set! The album's almost more Randy's than it is Nancy's given that Lewis takes a few tunes instrumentally, working in a blend of acoustic and electric instrumentation that's ... CD

Gene Harris & The Three Sounds

Live At The It Club
Blue Note, 1970. Used
Funky pianist Gene Harris had spent most of the 60s playing in a standard trio format with his group The Three Sounds – but by the time of this live set, the group was evolving into a monster jazz funk combo, and Harris was getting beautifully heavy handed in his approach to rhythm. This ... CD

Classic hardbop from the west coast – a set of live recordings done at the Black Hawk jazz club in San Francisco at the end of the 50s, featuring Shelly Manne at the head of a group that includes the great Joe Gordon on trumpet! Tracks are longer, livelier, and have a lot more solo room and ... CD
Verve, 1950s. Used 2 CDs

Verve, 1964. Used
One of Roland Kirk's moodiest albums – and a record that really helped him find a big new audience in the 60s! The approach here is a bit different than some of Kirk's more bombastic jazz albums from previous years – gentle, and almost spiritual at times – thanks to heavy use of ... CD

Johnny Lytle

Loop/New & Groovy
BGP (UK), 1966. Used
Killer set that combines both of Johnny's rare albums cut for the tiny Tuba label in the mid 60s! The records both have a great funky vibes sound, with lots of tight drumming, and soulful bubbling organ grooves. These are very sought after in their original pressings, and both LPs usually fetch ... CD

Airto

Homeless
MELT 2000 (UK), 2000. Used
Airto's working with a bit of electronics here, but the album's still got plenty of greatness to offer – loads of Mr Moreira's trademark percussion, mixed in with with a bit of flutes, cuica, and keyboards too! The production has a somewhat ambitious feel – spreading Airto's sound out ... CD
