A nice batch of grooves that has David Porter singing in a fairly funky Stax style, and recording with backup by the group Ebony Web. The overall sound is a lot rootsier than the work that Isaac Hayes did after his partnership with Porter broke up – and the album's a great example of the way that the post-Atlantic Stax artists were trying to push the Memphis sound.
