Visible & Invisible Persons Distributed In Space

LP (Item 121146) Numero, Early 80s — Condition: Sealed
A set that's got one of the more obtuse presentations we've ever seen from Numero – and that's saying a lot, given some of their releases in recent years – but a record that actually takes them back to the kind of rare funk and soul that made us fall in love with the label in the first place! The unusual fold-out, metallic-looking LP cover houses a record that's a treasure trove of undiscovered funky soul from the 80s – music that sometimes echoes mainstream modes, sometimes has an electro vibe, and which always serves to remind us that there was so great music being made across the country during the decade – but at a time when so much indie soul never received the sort of circulation it had in the 60s and 70s. Titles include "Real Life" by Severed, "Stay" by Iron Force, "First Time" by T Dyson & Company, "You Make Me Feel Brand New" by Cause & Effect, "Alibi Eyes" by Same Womb, "Metropolis" by Walter Hawkins, "Just Wish You Were Here" by E Willey Von Huff N Puff, "Spaced Out On Your Love" by Errol Stubbs, and "Now You Sit Alone" by LaRhonda LeGette.  © 1996-2022, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cool fold-together cover, still sealed with hype sticker on back!)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
