(Cover has some ring and edge wear and a small index label at the top left corner.)
Near Mint - (minus)
Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so.
These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play,
but might detract from the looks.
May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be
intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under
the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record.
(Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
Possible minor surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
One of the loveliest albums we've ever heard from Brazilian singer Maysa – largely because of some great arrangements by Luiz Eca and Roberto Menescal, both of whom give the album a gentle glide that offsets the emotive quality of Maysa's vocals nicely. Titles include "Que Eu Canse E ... LP, Vinyl record album
An excellent early album by one of Brazil's greatest singers! The record captures Elis Regina at a prime early stage – when her voice was raw and filled with emotion, and when she was backed by some excellent arrangements that blended jazz, bossa, and more complicated vocal settings. The ... LP, Vinyl record album
Elis Regina never lets us down – as you'll hear on this great record from 1971! The album captures Elis straddling the fence of her styles – one foot in the older jazzy bossa/samba camp, the other in the more sophisticated range of baroque MPB she virtually invented. Her voice is ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the most mindblowing albums ever recorded – anywhere, anytime! This 1969 set stands as one of the greatest records ever cut by Gal Costa – done at the height of the Tropicalia movement, and featuring a sublime mix of styles that really gets the spirit of the movement right. ... Big hits from this 80s Brazilian singer – titles that include "Eu Te Amo Voce", "Uma Noite E 1/2", "Nada Por Mim", "Virgem", "Nosso Estranho Amor", "Pra Comecar", "Fullgas", and "Acho Que Da". LP, Vinyl record album
A great album by this legendary Brazilian vocal group, and one that proves that they were still evolving their style nicely in the 70s. Some of the tracks feature the funky samba style that was showing up in other Brazilian recordings of the time, but the best bits have compilicated arrangements, ... LP, Vinyl record album
A wonderful album of tracks that show how far the samba sound had evolved by the Tropicalia era! The set was put together for a TV show in Sao Paulo – and it features a bunch of great work that you won't find elsewhere! The lovely Marilia Medalha contributes 2 great tracks – "Pres ... A lovely album that mixes the harmony vocals of the male MPB4 quartet and the sweet female combo Quarteto Em Cy. The eight singers work together on most tracks – and the album's got a spare spacey sound that makes it one of their best of the 70s, with little other production to get in the ... A later album by Brazilian genius Hermeto Pascoal – but a set that crackles with all the fire and imagination of his classic recordings! The mood here takes us back to Slaves Mass or A Musica Livre – a mad mix of catchy rhythms, tight jazzy solos, and an insane approach to arrangement ... LP, Vinyl record album
Produced by Paulinho Tapajos – with titles that include "Rumo Norte", "Roda De Ciranda No 2", "Sete Meninas", "Prece Ao Vento", "Crendice", "Folguedo", "Caninde", and "Coisas Novas". LP, Vinyl record album
A really nice 70s collection – filled with excellent samba tracks, including performances by Maria Aparecida, Chico Bondade, Rubens Zuzuca, Sabrina, Pedro Paulo, Luiz Vanderley, and others. LP, Vinyl record album
A light and dreamy set of Brazilian vocal tracks – recorded in 1967, and featuring the voice of singer Lenita Bruno, a strong 60s talent with a style that's somewhat like Sylvia Telles. Arrangements on the set are by Clare Fischer – who plays piano, organ, and electric harpsichord in a ... LP, Vinyl record album
