This image is a general representation of the item and the actual product may differ slightly in terms of color shading, logo placement, borders, or other small details. Used items may have various cosmetic differences as well.
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Used CD Grade
We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs.
This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer
used CDs in the best possible condition.
When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the
lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves),
and the booklet to be in good shape.
Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or
defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs),
so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.
All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws.
After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine
that it plays correctly.
If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
An amazing early album from Brazilian guitar virtuoso Luiz Bonfa – originally recorded by the audiophile Cook Laboratories on a Nagra recorder – in a spare, stripped-down, "in the field" sort of style! There's an intimacy here that's missing from some of Bonfa's studio ... CD
Luiz Bonfa on guitar and Cafe on pecussion – plus a bit of exta guitar from Gene Bertoncini on 3 tracks. Songs include "Samba De Orfeo", "Mar Encantado", "Gentle Rain", "Sambolero", "Passeio No Rio", and "Danca India". CD
Two of Tom Ze's greatest and rarest records from the Seventies have finally been reissued on one affordable CD! Estudando O Samba is one of Tom Ze's best albums ever – and it's monsterously hard to find. The record is a fantastic blend of post-Tropicalia styles – and it features some ... CD
Gilberto Gil's still got a nicely sharp edge here on this great set from the late 80s – a record that broke bigger than most of his others from the decade, at least on a global scale – and an album that showed the world that Gil still had plenty of energy and new ideas to offer! There's ... CD
Great stuff – one of Flora Purim's more R&B-sounding albums from the 70s, produced by George Duke with an appreciation for Flora's Brazilian jazz roots, but with a smoother sound that's in keeping with Duke's own work of the time! The combination is pretty sweet – a professional ... CD
A far-reaching album by Caetano – with a wide scope of sounds and influences, from tribal/ethnic percussion, to subtle jazzy backdrops, to guitar-driven numbers that hint at a brief return to rock music. The rich tapestry of themes and images are perfectly linked by Veloso's always-wonderful ... CD
A lively collection of classic samba material – featuring some really nice gems from the revivalist era of the early and mid 70s. As with all Luaka Bop compilations, the liner notes are great, and provide a strong introduction to the music. There's a total of 15 cuts in all – ... CD
A beautiful set of Brazilian vocals – inflected with a bit of bossa inspiration, but coming off a lot more freely overall! Wanda Sa and Celia Vaz sing dual vocals on a haunting set of tracks that have a strangely spacey sound, thanks to the lilting loveliness of the ladies' voices. The ... CD
Sure, Caetano's mostly associated with the immediate post-bossa era – when he was breaking new trends in music with his Tropicalia work – but he's also a pretty great hand with an old bossa ditty, and the music is a perfect platform for his intimate vocals and guitar work. This tasty ... CD
