Space Dance

LP (Item 11541) Motown, 1978 — Condition: Very Good-
Sort of a disco effort from Motown, featuring a group led by keyboardist Michael L. Smith, and featuring David T. Walker, Sonny Burke, James Gadson, Lee Ritenour, and Roland Bautista. The tracks are long dancefloor cuts, with a bit of a space disco sound, and titles like "Space Dance", "Groove Time", "You Don't Like To Party (Like I Do)", and "Rich Love, Poor Love".  © 1996-2023, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good - (minus)

  • Vinyl may be dirty, and can lack a fair amount of luster.
  • Vinyl can have a number of marks, either in clusters or smaller amounts, but deeper.
  • This is the kind of record that you'd buy to play, but not because it looked that great. Still, the flaws should be mostly cosmetic, with nothing too deep that would ruin the overall record.
  • Examples include a record that has been kept for a while in a cover without the paper sleeve, or heavily played by a previous owner and has some marks across the surface. The record should play okay, though probably with surface noise.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Supremes A Go Go
Motown, 1966. Very Good
One of the biggest charting LPs by The Supremes – and one of the best, too! Game Called Love
Motown, 1974. Near Mint-
Kind of a confused effort by The Originals – with a mix of styles that has the band running through material that includes some mellow countrified soul, plus sweeter ballads that are more in line with the group's better work. Jermaine Jackson

Feel The Fire
Motown, 1977. Near Mint-
Jermaine's going the way of most of Motown at this point – popping the bass pretty heavily, and grooving in a smooth funky mode. The cuts that go too over the top with the funky stuff definitely lose us – but there's a few decent mellow soul tracks that redeem the album, and which keep ... LP, Vinyl record album

Funky madness from the early version of the Ohio Players!
