3rd Festival da Musica Popular Brasileira Volume 1

LP (Item 11387) Philips (Brazil), 1967 — Condition: Good
Original pressing of this recording of music from the 3rd Festival of MPB in Sao Paulo in 1967. The LP was recorded in the TV Record studio in Sao Paulo – and it's got loads of great stuff, like "Roda Viva" by MPB4, "Bom Dia" and "Dada Maria" by Gal Costa, "Ponteio" by Edu Lovo and Marilia Medalha, "A Moreninha" by Gilberto Gil, and lots more cool stuff! A great one, and the kind of Brazilian compilation from the 60s that features stuff you probably can't get elsewhere!  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Good

  • A record that you'd buy to play, cheap, but which you wouldn't buy for collecting.
  • Will have marks across all parts of the playing surface, and will most likely play with surface noise throughout. May have some other significant flaws, such as residue, or a track that skips.
  • In most cases, a poor quality copy of a very difficult to find record.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Philips (Brazil), 1979. Very Good
A great 70s album from this excellent Brazilian harmony group! Their sound is a different from that of Quarteto Em Cy or Tamba Trio, and their singing is less filled with straight jazzy harmonies than it is some off-kilter vocal lines that weave together and challenge each other throughout the ...
