Rex Middleton's Hi-Fi's

LP (Item 11202) Verve, 1957 — Condition: Very Good+
The Hi Fi's were a cool LA jazz vocal group that were led by Rex Middleton, a big west coast impresario in the music biz. Eventually the members would go on to form The Fifth Dimension and The Friends Of Distinction. At this point, though, they're still singing mostly jazz and pop standard oriented material, and the lineup doesn't include Marilyn McCoo – although it does have a mixed male/female lineup. Nice breezy jazzy stuff, with arrangements by Buddy Bregman, and includes "Bernie's Tune", "Moonglow", "Undecided", "I Didn't Know About You", "Sometimes I'm Happy", "Over The Rainbow", "It's All Right With Me", "Every Day I Have The Blues", "Tomorrow Seems A Thousand Years", "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" and "Baby It Isn't In The Cards".  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Mono pressing with deep groove. Cover has a very small bit of splitting on the top seam, but this is a great copy overall.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Condition Notes

If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially if it is release or pressing details, or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
