Head & The Heart

LP (Item 109835) Sub Pop, 2011 — Condition: Very Good+
Gatefold
(Original pressing, includes booklet. Cover has light wear.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Wire

154
Warner, 1979. Very Good
Here's the one where it all goes crazy – where Wire move beyond the short, sharp shock of their earliest material – and almost lay the blueprint for the whole post-punk generation in the process! The ideas and sounds are every bit as sharp as before, but they're mixed with a moody ... LP, Vinyl record album

Fripp & Eno

No Pussyfooting
Island (UK), 1973. Near Mint-
The first appearance of the Frippertronics delay line built by Fripp and Eno out of a couple of tape decks. Somehow even though this is nearly pure process music, it manages to sound far from dated, cliched or boring – ambient bliss meets only slightly noodly prog guitar in a hall of mirrors. ... Brian Eno

Music For Films
EG/Antilles, 1978. Near Mint-
A compilation LP of sorts – though at the time of its release most of this material had not been heard in this form! The album's more or less part of the "Ambient" series Eno had started that year with Music For Airports – and it's presented with similarly simple, elegant ... LP, Vinyl record album

Fleetwood Mac

English Rose
Epic, 1969. Very Good
Titles include "Stop Messin Round", "Something Inside Of Me", "Albatross", and "Love That Burns". LP, Vinyl record album

EG, 1982. Near Mint-
Brian Eno leaves the Airports, and moves On Land – but still keeps things pretty much in the spare sound of the Ambient series! The lineup here features a few more extra musicians – including Michael Beinhorn on synth, Jon Hassell on trumpet, Axel Gros and Michael Brook on guitars, and ... LP, Vinyl record album

Johnny Burnette

Johnny Burnette Sings
Liberty, Early 60s. Very Good
(Mono pressing with deep groove. NOTE – Vinyl is oxidized and plays with surface noise. Cover has a hype sticker, yellowing from age, sticker remnants and a small peeled spot at the opening, and half split bottom seam. Label has small peeled spots.) LP, Vinyl record album

In Your Mind
Polydor (UK), 1977. Near Mint-

Sonny Stitt

Goin' Down Slow
Prestige, 1972. Very Good-
Sonny Stitt's going down slow here – hitting a groove that's a bit more laidback than some of his funkier albums for Prestige, but one that's still pretty darn great overall! The sound is almost in a Stanley Turrentine mode at CTI – with fuller arrangements behind his saxophone solos, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Rinder & Lewis

Seven Deadly Sins
AVI, 1977. Very Good
A wonderful space disco classic from the years before house music – and a record that's gone on to have a huge influence on generations of dancefloors over the years! The duo of Rinder & Lewis did a number of other projects for the AVI label back in the 70s, but this one may well be ... LP, Vinyl record album

Ramsey Lewis

Back To The Roots
Cadet, Late 60s. Very Good Gatefold
One of Ramsey's excellent late 60s funky piano records for Cadet – featuring his second trio with Cleveland Eaton on bass and Morris Jennings on drums, and a sound that's nicely expanded from the mid 60s hit years. Charles Stepney plays a bit of organ on the album, and Henry Gibson gives the ... LP, Vinyl record album

John Coltrane

Last Trane
Prestige, 1957/1958. Very Good
A nice set – despite being kind of a put-together batch of tunes! The album's titled "The Last Trane" because it represents the last material that Prestige Records had in its vault from the time that John Coltrane was recording for the label in the late 50s. Titles were recorded ... LP, Vinyl record album
