World Is A Circle

LP (Item 10960) Paramount, 1973 — Condition: Near Mint-

One of his best records, and one that's a little bit hipper, and much less cheesy than his 60's albums. The set list includes Bacharach's "The World Is A Circle", plus a cool version of "Popcorn", and "Imagine", "Blue Bach", and "Ben".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover has a cutout notch.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Music To Watch Girls By
Dyno Voice, Late 60s. Very Good+
Wonderful grooves from the legendary Bob Crewe – a jaunty batch of studio instrumentals, often done with some hip touches in the production and arrangements! The groovy title theme really sets the tone for the record, and all tunes are upbeat and done in a mix of easy and rockish ... LP, Vinyl record album

A pretty groovy album of instrumental tracks from arranger Wally Stott – an artist who'd later craft the beautiful backdrops for some of Scott Walker's solo records! The style here is a bit more 50s instrumental – larger orchestrations with some touches of jazz, as Stott serves up a ... LP, Vinyl record album

This is our favorite of all Esquivel albums – both because some of the electronic effects are the most advanced, and because it was recorded late enough to feature some great renditions of Bossa Nova material, like "Aqua de Beber" and "Surfboard". The sound is very groovy ... LP, Vinyl record album

The great arranger in one of his grooviest settings – a very jazzy album that features trombone from Milt Bernhart and Bob Enevoldsen, guitar from Barney Kessel, percussion from Larry Bunker, drums from Shelly Manne, and trumpe from Don Fagerquist! Nelson Riddle

Love Tide
Capitol, 1961. Near Mint-
Sweetly cascading strings from Nelson Riddle – in a style that's quite different from his work with Frank Sinatra! The Nelson Riddle on this set is much more of a mood music maestro than a jazzy vocal arranger – using more strings than usual, and going for a wonderfully fluid sound ... LP, Vinyl record album

Roland Kirk

Volunteered Slavery
Atlantic, 1969. Very Good+
Our favorite album ever from Roland Kirk – and a beautiful mix of two different sides of his genius! Side one's got Roland doing these crazy takes on late 60's pop cuts like "My Cherie Amour" and "Say a Little Prayer", plus his own "songs", done with soulful ... LP, Vinyl record album

An essential bit of jazz funk from Donald Byrd and Larry Mizell! The groove's very similar to their classic Places & Spaces LP, and the record's got loads of cool spacey tracks with hot funky trumpet from Donald, and cool waves of synth and sound from Larry.
