Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

That's The Way It Should Be
Columbia, 1994. Used
A surprising mid 90s comeback for Booker T & The MGs – a session that reunites Booker T on Hammond, Steve Cropper on guitar, and Donald Duck Dunn on bass – with additional drums from either Steve Jordan or James Gadson! The sound is somewhat in the classic Stax mode of years back ... CD

Columbia, 1970s. Used
The mellow soul of Bill Withers is always a treat – and although this best of collection is released on Columbia, it also features tracks from Bill's stellar early days at Sussex, when he was turning out some of the most quietly revolutionary soul of the decade! Bill's voice is one of the ... CD

BT Express

Keep it Up
Columbia/FTG, 1982. Used
Great later work from BT Express – a record with a sound that's cleaner, leaner, and more stripped-down than some of their earlier records! The style here is still the same as before – mostly soul aimed at the dancefloor, served up with a tremendous sense of bottom rhythm – but ... CD
Columbia/FTG, 1977. Used
The cover has Tyrone Davis in a very diverse crowd, but the record is pure Davis all the way through – that great blend of bluesy roots and classier soul that made most of his 70s records so wonderful! The approach here is even more careful and well put-together than some of Tyrone's last ... CD

A smoothly soulful set from Sade – with a bit more heartbreak and sometimes a bit heavier moodiness in the compositions – changing up the groove just enough on her first album in 8 years and reminding us how much we miss her in her years between albums! The first couple of tunes on the ... CD
Epic, 1992. Used
Sade's last LP from the early 90s before she went into her brief recording and performing hiatus. Like the preceding records, the approach is heavy on the jazz side of things, with a crisp, spare touch on the production and a wonderfully soulful feel to the songwriting. At this point she no ... CD
