Hell's Angels '69

LP (Item 10316) Capitol, 1969 — Condition: Sealed
Gatefold
An excellent biker soundtrack – very different than the usual bag! For this one, Tony Bruno has come up with some great instrumentals – many of them jazzier than you'd think, and a few with some nice funky Capitol instrumental touches – not so much studio fuzz guitar, as they are groovy numbers that are a lot less hairy than the guys on screen in the movie! The change is a nice one – not as rockish as the regular biker soundtrack – although there are some vocal numbers too, done in the Tower/Sidewalk sort of style. Yet it's the instrumentals that really send us – and which make this album well worth seeking out! Titles include "Chase Of Death", "Goofin", "Bass Lake Run", "Hang On Tight", and "Al and Alice".  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Sealed original pressing!)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Condition Notes

If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially if it is release or pressing details, or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Pufnstuf – Original Soundtrack
Capitol, 1970. Very Good+
Pretty darn great stuff – and the soundtrack to the original film that pre-dated the HR Pufnstuff TV show! Charlie Fox really outdoes himself for the movie – working in a mode that's halfway between Barbarella-like fantasy instrumentals, and Chad & Jeremy-era British pop. Half the ... Hammersmith Is Out
Capitol, 1972. Near Mint-
A great soundtrack to a very strange film – a late Richard Burton/Elizabeth Taylor vehicle, with a very weird-sounding plot! The album's got some wonderfully groovy numbers that have a real kick to them – bass and drums dancing away on the bottom, with nice use of guitar and organ to ... LP, Vinyl record album

An excellent funky rock soundtrack – penned by the team of Jon Lord and Tony Ashton for this groovy Joe Namath film! (Whatever happened to Joe Namath as a movie star? We loved those movies!) Funeral in Berlin
RCA, 1967. Near Mint-
One of the grooviest Michael Caine spy films of the 60s – given an equally groovy soundtrack by Konrad Elfers! We don't know Elfers from other work of the time, but this album's a real standout – not the usual spy sort of work, although still with some great jazzy touches at times ... LP, Vinyl record album

Luiz Bonfa/Eumir Deodato

Gentle Rain
Mercury, 1965. Near Mint-
A dreamy little soundtrack to this lesser-known film – but a real bossa classic from the 60s, featuring original tunes by Luiz Bonfa and orchestrations by Deodato! The sound of the set is really wonderful – sometimes fragile, sometimes full – with a juxtaposition that beautifully ... LP, Vinyl record album

Rocky IV
Scotti Bros, 1985. Near Mint-
A real mish-mash of terrible music (then again, wasn't the movie pretty terrible too?) – but the record is noteworthy for the track "Living In America", which was a bit of a comeback tune for James Brown – and not a bad little number when you think about it. Of course, the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Columbia, Late 60s. Near Mint-
A really wonderful soundtrack, with loads of groovy tracks!
