Mondo Cane No 2

LP (Item 10279) 20th Century, 1964 — Condition: Near Mint-
The follow up to the first Mondo Cane film – in case you couldn't tell by the title! Nino did part of the music for the first one, and the style here is very similar – mostly orchestral, but with a few lighter moments that get a little groovy. There's no big hit on this one, as with the first – and tracks include "Italian Wig", "Zio Guida", "Teste Dure", "The Pasadena", "Wigs", "Flamingos", "Tortillas", and "Call Girls".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Mono pressing.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Johnny Williams

How To Steal A Million
20th Century, 1966. Near Mint-
Mid 60s magic from Johnny Williams – a cool little score to an obscure heist film that starred Audrey Hepburn and Peter O'Toole! The style here is very much like some of Johnny's other best of the time – often playful at points, but warmer at others – a great blend of fuller ... LP, Vinyl record album

Man With The Golden Arm – Original Soundtrack
Decca, 1955. Very Good+
One of the greatest jazz soundtracks of all time! Elmer Bernstein wrote the score to Otto Preminger's chilling film version of Nelson Algren's book The Man With The Golden Arm – a sad tale of jazz, gambling, and heroin addiction on the streets of Chicago (not far from Dusty Groove, in fact!) ... Brian May

Road Warrior
Varese, 1982. Near Mint-
Brian May's classic score to the first Road Warrior film – nicely lean compared to overblown modes to follow. No Tina Turner – but lots of great guitar work and orchestrations! LP, Vinyl record album

Roy Budd

Wild Geese
A&M, 1978. Very Good+
Tightly-strung score for this forgotten war flick starring Roger Moore, Richard Burton, and Richard Harris. Budd does a nice job with the orchestra on this one, and most of the themes have a snappy militaristic style, in the vein of The Magnificent Seven or The Great Escape. Not as many jazzy ... The soundtrack for one of the most popular John Hughes films of the 80s, and the soundtrack for a generation as well – a mix of songs that were partly pulled from other sources, but which went on to make the idea of a compilation soundtrack every bit as important as a full original film score! ...
