Michael JacksonXscape ... CD
Epic, 2014. New Copy ... $10.99
Some of the best work we've heard from Michael Jackson in years – even though the set brings together lost recordings from the many years of Michael's career! The range of sounds here is really wonderful, and the performances are surprisingly great – moments that somehow never found their way onto Jackson's albums for Columbia and Sony, and which really stand out with a special feel because of that – partly due to the help from the extra contemporary producers who helped finish off the work for release. The set begins with "Love Never Felt So Good" – a killer number with a late 70s vibe that puts it right up there with the classic Off The Wall album – and other cuts include the sexy, slinky "Chicago", the cool remake of an old America song titled "A Place With No Name", and the tracks "Slave To The Rhythm", "Loving You", "Do You Know Where Your Children Are", and "Xscape".
