While some of this material was released later by Carlos in a different recording, this is the soundtrack to the film, with several orchestral songs and the Gene Kelly version of "Singin In The Rain" included next to Carlos' electronic versions of Beethoven and his own great work for the film, "Timesteps" and "Theme From A Clockwork Orange". Wendy Carlos was known best for her important early experiments in electronic music – most recorded as WalterCarlos – but she had a great early 80s moment with this well-crafted soundtrack to the film Tron – a mix of her own electronics and some surprisingly strong orchestrations – recorded in a way that really shows the evolution of the Carlos' style since the early days! In fact, there's a richness to the music that may well surpass the quality of the images on the screen – which has made the whole thing a surprisingly durable sci fi soundtrack over the years. Journey performs the tracks "Only Solutions" and "1990s Theme" – but the rest is Carlos and the London Philharmonic! LP, Vinyl record album

Great work from Albert Dailey – a pianist who was lending some great touches to a variety of other albums at the time, but who rarely got the chance to record on his own! The album's got the strange aspect of featuring an introduction by WalterCarlos, who also mixed the session – and it also features a strange chamber jazz version of Carlos' "Theme From Clockwork Orange" – but overall the proceedings are mostly acoustic, and feature contemplative and soulful piano by Dailey, with some occasional backing from a chamber string group. Dailey does play moog one one track – the compelling "Free Me" – and other titles include "The Day After The Dawn", "AD", "Dailey Double", and "A Lady's Mistake". LP, Vinyl record album
A really sweet electronic album from Dan Lacksman – one that's a lot more instrumental than his debut album, but which still sounds different than some of the moog records that came before! Dan's really opening up his analog skills here – and he uses the world of electronics in ways that are sometimes dreamy and easy, sometimes more straightforwardly tuneful – almost Hot Butter territory, but more complex and with all the sorts of cool, unusual touches that make his work in the studio such a standout – and such a nice step forward from the work of Perry & Kingsley, or WalterCarlos. Titles include "Electronic Fair", "Plic Ploc", "Top Tang", "It's Raining Today", "Top Jerk", and "Dedicated To Gerard". LP, Vinyl record album
