A rich collection of work from the Trident Productions imprint – a mid 60s company based in San Francisco, and home to a great array of really groovy artists! The sounds here are a fair bit sweeter than more famous SF work of the late 60s – often a mix of folk rock and jangle-pop that's got plenty of Sunshine touches, but a bit more depth overall – really pivotal work that shows the first murmurings of the more sophisticated sounds that would soon mark the Bay Area scene. A few of the artists are quite well known – and although Trident was never its own label, the company placed some of its bigger acts on Verve
, A&M, and other companies. 2CD package features a huge array of notes telling the full Trident story – and features 44 titles that include "Brave New World" by Thorinshield, "Places I've Been" by Randy Steirling, "I'll Make You Happy" by Frank May, "I Really Want You" by The Justice League, "You Were On My Mind" by We Five, "Stranger In A Strange Land" by Blackburn & Snow, "Time" by The New Tweedy Brothers, "Here I Stand" by The All Nite Flight, "61 Clay" by Ron Nagle, "Peaceful Times" by The Crystal Set, and "This Time" by Ron Davies.
