Unlimited TouchYes We're Ready ... LP
Prelude, 1983. Near Mint- ... $34.99
Pretty great stuff from Unlimited Touch – grooving here in a sound that's got a bit more of an 80s feel than their previous album, but which still works well for their dual-female vocal lead style. There's a bit of an electro "wheeet" in some of the tracks, but the vocals and the songwriting are still in a tightly soulful mode. Titles include "Love Explosion", "Your Love Is Serious", "No One Can Love Me", and a remake of "Yes, I'm Ready". LP, Vinyl record album
(Cover has a promo stamp.)

Prelude, 1981. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
An excellent bit of 80s groove! Unlimited Touch have a cool 2-female lead vocal style – and they keep it tight and soulful on grooves that have a nice tight club sound, in a style that often reminds us of Roy Ayers produced albums, like Ladies Of The 80s, or some of the more uptempo tracks on the Ramp album. The record's one of the more soulful efforts to come out on the Prelude label at the time – and it's got lots of nice tracks like "Private Party", "In The Middle", "Happy Ever After", and "I Hear Music In The Streets". ✨✧ Love UnlimitedHigh Steppin Hip Dressin Fella (voc, inst) ... 12-inch
Unlimited Gold, 1979. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
An excellent groover from Love Unlimited – proof that neither they, nor Barry White, had lost their touch! The tune's got a snapping bassline that really grooves the track right away – pulling in some soaring strings, but still keeping up the beat as the vocals come in. The instrumental still has a bit of chorus vocals, but seems to add in a bit of piano to fill things out! 12-inch, Vinyl record

MFSBLove Is The Message ... LP
Philadelphia International, 1973. Very Good+ ... $6.99
A key moment for the Philly soul scene of the 70s – and the first album to feature the MFSB backing group as a solo act on their own! The ensemble were responsible for key sounds on countless soul singles of the time – yet also find a way to soar beautifully on their own – in a sweet instrumental groove that matches the strength of Barry White's Love Unlimited Orchestra, and which was definitely a key inspiration for the sound of the Salsoul Orchestra! There's definitely a bit of early disco in the mix, but the style's more uptempo east coast overall – that pre-disco groove that was going down in the clubs – with larger strings added to a core group of funky rhythm players. Gamble & Huff production make the whole thing sparkle, and arrangements are by Vince Montana, Bobby Martin, and Jack Faith – on titles that include "Love Is The Message", "Cheaper To Keep Her", "TSOP", "Zack's Fanfare", "Touch Me In The Morning", and "My One & Only Love". LP, Vinyl record album
(Cover has light wear and aging.)

✨✧ Roger (Roger Troutman)Unlimited! ... LP
Reprise, 1987. Near Mint- ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Plenty of beats here from Roger Troutman – going for a sound that's maybe even more electro than some of his earlier solo work, at a level that really seems to be pushing the Zapp sound further for the 80s! The style is funky, but touched with lots of elements that have wended their way from indie hip hop up to mainstream soul – all at a level that later acts might fuse together with a bit more warmth, but which still has the starker feel of electro soul in Troutman's hands. Titles include "Thrill Seekers", "I Want To Be You Man", "I Really Want to Be You Man", "Night & Day", and "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag". LP, Vinyl record album
(Includes the printed inner sleeve. Cover has some surface and edge wear, light aging, hype sticker, a section cut out from the top left where a promo stamp was applied, and a name in marker at the bottom left. Labels have a name in marker.)
