Pet Records, Late 60s. Used ... Out Of Stock
A wonderfully groovy compilation – filled with sunshine pop tunes we might not have ever heard! The set does a great job of sorting through late 60s albums we might have otherwise missed – obscure major label pop albums that were released and deleted in one breath, and which have been lost to the shifting sands of time and the vagaries of the record racks. A few of the names on the set are familiar to us, but many of the others are only ones that we've passed by while digging through bins at other stores – confident in the knowledge that the records had nothing to offer us, now kicking ourselves once we've heard this sampling of groovy pop tunes! Titles include "I Think I'll Just Go & Find Me A Flower" by Moorpark Intersection, "My Buddy Sin" by The Stained Glass, "Naturally Stoned" by The Avant Garde, "9 O'Clock Business Man" by Peppermint Trolley Company, "You're The Biggest Thing In My Life" by Appletree Theater, "Take Me Break Me" by Underground Sunshine, "I'll Cry Out From My Grave" by Brigadune, "Past The State Of Mind" by Jim & Dale, "Flower Smile" by Hyle King Movement, "C'Mon Baby" by Deep Six, and "Groovy Motions" by Fireballs. 23 tracks in all, with reasonably good notes on the music.
