Curtis MayfieldSuperfly (die-cut gatefold cover) ... LP
Curtom, 1972. Very Good+ Gatefold ... $43.99
Curtis Mayfield's lasting classic – and an album that the world will remember forever! Apart from being his hugely successful entry into the blacksploitation soundtrack field, this album's also a monster set of grooves that includes some of Curtis' funkiest work ever – a record that works as well as a 70s soul album as it does a hip action film score! The track list alone reads as a who's who of 70s funk – filled with gems that include "Pusherman", "Freddie's Dead", "Little Child Runnin' Wild", "Give Me Your Love", and "Superfly" – and the rest of the set is equally great, essential listening throughout! LP, Vinyl record album
(Original pressing with Bell Sound/SF etch. Cover has a spot of wear on the spine, and looks nice overall!)
Also available Superfly (2LP deluxe edition) ... LP 36.99

Eugene McDanielsOutlaw (180 gram gold vinyl pressing) ... LP
Atlantic/Music On Vinyl (Netherlands), 1970. New Copy (reissue)... $34.99 38.99
An incredible step forward for 60s soul singer Gene McDaniels – so much so, that most folks hearing this album can't believe he's the same guy who recorded for Liberty Records a few years before! The album's incredibly righteous right from the start – and has a genre-busting quality that isn't quite soul, but isn't rock or anything else either – and instead, the kind of progressive, "years ahead of its time" sort of set that guys like David Axelrod were cutting in the same stretch. Apart from the title, the whole record's got a strong political message that's probably best embodied in the statement on the back – "Under conditions of national emergency, like now, there are only two kinds of people – those who work for freedom, and those who do not – the good guys vs the bad guys". With words like that, you can definitely bet that Eugene is on the side of the good guys – really pushing a social agenda with some wonderfully-penned tunes on the album – set to cool musical backdrops from the equally-righteous William S Fischer. Titles include "Love Letter To America", "Black Boy", "Outlaw", and "Sagittarius Red". LP, Vinyl record album
(Limited gold vinyl pressing – despite the hype sticker listing it as silver.)

Mike MelvoinPlastic Cow Goes Moooooog ... LP
Dot, Late 60s. Near Mint- ... $19.99
One of the best-remembered albums from the moog pop generation – a record that's definitely a cut above the rest, thanks to the top-shelf talents of pianist Mike Melvoin! Melvoin is a name you'll recognize from countless other great LA sessions of the 60s – and Mike was always able to shift and move into the best sorts of styles when he wanted – jazz, soul, funk, and here, the new world of moogy instrumentals – served up here with some nice electronic effects that really keep things interesting! The record also features groovy help from Paul Humphrey and Earl Palmer on drums, and Dennis Budimir on guitar – and Beaver and Kraus were the "moog consultants" on the record too. There's some nice originals – including "One Man One Volt", "Plastic Cow", and "Medicine Man" – plus covers of "Born To Be Wild", "Sunshine Of Your Love", "Spinning Wheel", and "Ballad Of John & Yoko". David MenconiOh Didn't They Ramble – Rounder Records & The Transformation Of American Roots Music ... Book
University Of North Carolina Press, 2023. New Copy ... $19.99 27.99
The full story of one of the most important indie labels in the world of folk, roots, and acoustic music – an imprint who are maybe only second to Folkways Records fo the way they've not only preserved the past, but helped foster a new future as well! Rounder Records was begun as a labor of love in the Boston scene after the more popular folk boom of the 60s – and as the dust settled from the years of Kingston Trio and The Brothers Four, Rounder helped find a way forward for the more interesting, more important acoustic artists – while also opening the door to new sounds and styles along the way – a huge legacy that ended up including superstars as well as very obscure musicians and singers. The book has a great narrative drive, and really gets at the kind of enthusiasm that started the label and kept it going and growing for decades – tracing both its influence on other musical scenes, and the way that artists continued to help Rounder from ever falling into cliche. Hardcover edition is 196 pages, with some black and white images. Book

✨✧ Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66Equinox ... LP
A&M, 1968. Near Mint- ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
The second album by Sergio and crew – and a real push forward for the group! The basic format of two-female harmony leads is still in place – but for some reason, this album gives a bit more of a nod to Brazilian roots than before, and really spices things up with an even more interesting array of songs! There's a bit less of the pop/cover style than before, and a bit more of a nod towards the hipper side of Brazilian music – especially the modernists of the bossa nova generation. Brazilian tunes include versions of "Constant Rain", "Cinnamon & Clove", "Bim Bom", and "Wave" – and there's also a few nice English numbers, like their hit version of "Night & Day", and a great reading of "Watch What Happens"! Disques Du Crepuscule (Netherlands), 1986. Very Good ... Out Of Stock
One of the best albums ever from the enigmatic pianist Wim Mertens – a key solo set after leaving Soft Verdict! This album features the Belgian pianist/composer in a dreamy set of solo works – playing piano and singing along in an eerie wordless style that sounds a bit goofy, but which we still find pretty captivating. Hey, what do we know? We used to see this guy open for punk shows – not at symphony hall! Titles include "Casting No Shadow", "Naviamente", "Hirose", and "You See". LP, Vinyl record album

Vertigo (Japan), 1983. Used ... $18.99
The triumphant debut of Metallica – whose reputation began to build even earlier, via a legendary demo tape that made the underground rounds in the metal community, along with their roof-blasting early live sets – and this astonishing first album showed that the hype was no joke! It's hard to imagine the move towards unrelenting heaviness in metal music ever could have happened without this and a handful of other early 80s masterpieces, and it still kills after all these years. Includes "Hit The Lights", "Motorbreath", "Jump In The Fire", "Anesthesia – Pulling Teeth" and "Whiplash", "The Four Horseman", "Phantom Lord", "No Remorse" and "Metal Militia". CD

MetersCabbage Alley (plus bonus tracks) ... CD
Reprise/Sundazed, 1972. Used ... $6.99
A really cool cooker from The Meters – recorded during their post-Josie run for Warner Brothers, but with this tight vibe that still holds all their funky New Orleans roots intact! The sound is a bit more expanded here – not in a commercial way, but just in a style that has the group trying out more things – some interesting rhythms, offbeat guitar passages, and maybe even more of a vocal presence – although it's clearly the drums and basslines that are still driving the whole thing along! Production is by Allen Toussaint and Marshall Sehorn – again in that great style they were hitting at Warner – and titles include "Soul Island", "Flower Song", "Gettin Funkier All the Time", "Do the Dirt", "Cabbage Alley", and "Stay Away" – plus a version of Neil Young's "Birds"! CD also features the bonus cuts "Chug Chug Chug-a-Lug (Push & Shove)" parts 1 & 2! CD

Charles MingusCharles Mingus With Orchestra (Japanese pressing) ... CD
Denon (Japan), 1971. Used ... $14.99
A nice early 70s session from Charles Mingus – and in interesting one, to boot – finding the legendary bassist in Japan leading his own group and Toshiyuki Miyama and his New Herd Orchestra! Mingus's American players included Bobbie Jones on tenor and clarinet, Eddie Preston on trumpet. The New Herd featured Masahiko Sato on a prominent piano, and Shigeo Suzuki on alto. Jaki Byard arranged. The epic side "The Man Who Never Sleeps" runs over 16 minutes, and finds group in a restrained combo groove, a very subtle and wonderful tune. The remaining numbers "OP" and "Portrait" are done in a more straight-forward big band mode, but still with a relaxed feel. CD

✨✧ Charles MingusEast Coasting (with bonus tracks) ... CD
Bethlehem/Avenue, 1957. Used ... Out Of Stock
One of Charles Mingus' excellent albums for the Bethlehem label – recorded during that magical year of 1957, a real turning point in his career! There's a sharpness here to Mingus' musical vision that hadn't shown up in previous years – a refinement of ideas expressed for Savoy and Prestige on previous sessions, drawn with tighter tension, and a bolder sense of spirit and emotion throughout. The group's a well-chosen batch of modernists – with Shafi Hadi on alto and tenor, Jimmy Knepper on trombone, Clarence Shaw on trumpet, and the surprising addition of Bill Evans on piano – sounding a fair bit bolder here than elsewhere. Titles are almost all Mingus originals with a great balance of modern structures and freer solo moments – and tracks include "Conversation", "West Coast Ghost", "Fifty First Street Blues", "East Coasting", and the sublime "Celia", which Mingus and Hadi performed in the film Shadows by John Cassavettes. CD reissue also features bonus alternate takes of "East Coasting" and "Memories Of You". CD

Charles MingusJazz In Detroit – Strata Concert Gallery (5CD set) ... CD
Strata/BBE (UK), 1973. New Copy 5 CDs ... $34.99 35.99
A fantastic live performance from Charles Mingus – recorded in Detroit, with a slightly unusual group – and done with the more open, freewheeling quality that grace his live recordings of the early 60s! The set was recorded at the Strata Gallery – and has some of the deeper spiritual currents of the work on Detroit's Strata label – as the quintet burns beautifully with contributions from Don Pullen on piano, John Stubblefield on tenor, Joe Gardner on trumpet, and the great Roy Brooks on drums! It's interesting both to hear Mingus without Dannie Richmond on drums – and Brooks at a time when he was at his most righteous – and the pairing really seems to bring a lot of the best energy out of the other players too. The super-expanded set features material from a few nights of performance, with a few alternate takes – and titles include "The Man Who Never Sleeps", "Pithecanthropus Erectus", "Peggy's Blue Skylight", "Orange Was The Color Of Her Dress Then Blue Silk", "Dizzy Profile", and "C Jam Blues". ✨✧ Missing BraziliansWarzone ... LP
On-U Sound (UK), 1984. Sealed ... Out Of Stock
One of the coolest studio projects from the early years of the On-U Sound label – a record that's maybe a bit more subtle overall than some of the Tackhead and Mark Stewart projects of the time, but which has an equally similar genre-busting quality! The vibe here is nice and lean – with plenty of bass and effects from Crocodile, on darkly moody tunes that are only partly reggae in inspiration, and which also have plenty of the same elements you might hear on some of Jah Wobble's best early solo projects – with plenty of Adrian Sherwood effects and echo to keep things spooky and moody throughout! Annie Anxiety and Shara Nelson each sing on a track on the record – but most of the set is instrumental, and has this wonderful spare interplay between the instruments, served up in dubby heaven. Titles include "Crocodile's Court", "Savanna Prance", "Meander", "Igloo Inn", "Missing Brazilians", "Gentle Killers", and "Frequency Feast". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Itaru MitaAmbient Definitive – Revised Edition ... Book
P-Vine (Japan), 2014. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
A very cool book – and way different than you might expect from the title – as the discography doesn't only focus on contemporary ambient albums, but instead traces a history of moody sounds from the late 50s onwards! The publication is one of the most interesting Japanese discographies we've seen so far – filled with an evolving conception of ambient sounds, through jazz, acid folk, kraut rock, electronic music, and a host of other styles that predate Brian Eno's 70s experiments in ambient – and all the many Eno-inspired projects to follow – with chapters on John Cage, Joe Meek, Gigi Masin, Pauline Oliveros, Iasos, Walter Marchetti, Luc Ferrari, Lol Coxhill, Joanna Brouk, Sun Electric, Max Richter, and dozens of other artists. As with most Japanese discographies, the book has images of record covers, with dates, labels, and artists in English – plus a small review in Japanese – and even if you can't understand that last bit, you can still understand plenty from the way the book breaks down the music into various years and styles. This expanded edition is even better than the previous one – with chapters that include Space Age records of the 50s and 60s, Meditation records of the 70s, Post Modern records of the late 70s and 80s, Chill Scape records of the early 90s, Drone/Improvisation records of the late 90s/early 00s, and a Diversity section of more recent records. Book is softcover, over 300 pages, and filled with hundreds of images throughout! Book

✨✧ Roscoe MitchellSolo Concert ... LP
Sackville (Canada), 1973/1974. Near Mint- ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Incredible solo work from Roscoe Mitchell – almost even more compelling than any of his work with bigger groups! The set compiles material from a number of different concerts, and features Mitchell on alto, tenor, baritone, and soprano sax – blowing these wonderfully shaped, thoughtfully formed lines that are filled with soul and feeling – almost more inside than most of Roscoe's other work of the time, but still with some of the exploratory sensibilities you might hear in his Nessa albums. Sounds are quite fragile at points, but quite bold at others – and the range of expressions really keeps things interesting throughout. Titles include "Eeltwo", "Nonaah", "Tutankamen", "Ttum", "Jibbana", and "Oobina". 9 tracks in all – pulled from 1973 concerts in Kalamazoo and Montreal, and a 1974 set in Finland. Akira MiyazawaAkira Miyazawa (aka Yamame) ... CD
King (Japan), 1962. New Copy ... $14.99 18.99
If the cover image of a Akira Miyazawa fishing in a trout stream wasn't already enough to make us love this one, the music on the disc certainly is – as the album's a real shining jewel in the Japanese jazz scene of the 60s, the kind of record that really set a whole new standard for the players involved! Miyazawa's got a tone here that's really incredible – an approach to the alto that's a bit like Lou Donaldson during his bop years for Blue Note, but which is also recorded here with a great sense of space that echoes out wonderfully – even when Akira's just doing a little. The group is relatively large, but all focused around Miyazawa's horn – and other players include Sadao Watanabe on flute and Masahiko Sato on piano. Buddah, 1975. Very Good ... Out Of Stock
A righteous group soul classic from the 70s – the one and only album from The Modulations, and a lasting classic that almost beats the multiple album runs of some of their contemporaries! The group's a southern harmony quartet at their core, but they also get some really great backings on the set – a Philly vibe that really matches the best work from the Gamble & Huff stable, but with more of an indie vibe too – fitting for the Buddah Records placement of the set. The record features studio help from Norman Harris, Vince Montana, and Bobby Eli – whose work on the record helps link the style to the righteous grooves of groups like Soul Generation or True Reflection – both a good comparison to The Modulations too! Titles include "It's Rough Out Here", "I Found Love At Last", "Those Were The Best Days Of My Life", and "I'll Always Love You". LP, Vinyl record album

Motown/Kent (UK), 1960s. New Copy ... $12.99 19.99
A real lost gem from Motown – and a whole lot more! Greetings! We're The Monitors is the only full album ever cut by The Monitors – a 3-man, 1-woman vocal group who were in a popular Motown mixed harmonies mode. The quartet had a wonderfully strong vocal presence – blasting away at most tracks with a strength that groups like The Miracles or Gladys Knight & The Pips could never match – and like those groups, they bridge that key period between late doo wop-oriented harmonies, and tighter 60s group soul. The LP brings together singles the Monitors cut for Motown during the previous few years, but it also works extremely well as a unified album – and it's a refreshing change from some of the oft-heard Motown material. Titles include "Greetings (This Is Uncle Sam)", "Number One In Your Heart", "Bring Back The Love", "Step By Step (Hand In Hand)", and "Baby Make Your Own Sweet Music". This incredible anthologogy from Kent starts off with that album and includes 12 unissued tracks – a whole album's worth – plus 2 B-Sides. Unissued tracks include "Too Busy Thinking About My Baby" , "The Letter", "Poor Side Of Town", "Anything", "Guilty" and more. 26 tracks in all! CD

A brilliant live set from the key 60s years of the Thelonious Monk Quartet – material recorded in Tokyo as part of a TV broadcasting – done with excellent sound, and different than the album release of material that came out from Columbia Records at the time! The group here features pure genius – a balance of Monk's modern piano with sax, bass, and drums at a level that's almost an answer to that pairing in the late 50s Dave Brubeck group – Monk really pushing the edges, alongside the stunning Charlie Rouse on tenor, with Butch Warren on bass and Frankie Dunlop on drums. This version of the group would be gone by the end of 1963, but sound wonderful here – on titles that include "Epistrophy", "Evidence", "Just A Gigolo", "Blue Monk", and "Ba Lou Bolivar Ba Luse Are". The pair also perform "The Way You Look Tonight" and "I Want To Be Happy" with a quartet – twisting the familiar tunes into strongly Monkish territory – and the album's last 2 tracks, "Nutty" and "Work" are performed by Monk with a trio that includes Percy Heath on bass and Art Blakey on drums. MonkeesGreatest Hits (yellow vinyl pressing) ... LP
Rhino, Late 60s. New Copy (reissue)... $22.99 24.99
The Monkees had so many fantastic records during their short span of recording, nearly all of them might well be "greatest hits" – but this set does a nice job of slimming the selection down to focus on some of the most long-lasting tracks from the group! There's a few killer Boyce & Hart compositions, produced by the duo too – and the set also features contributions from other 60s pop heavyweights, like Chip Douglas, Neil Diamond, Jeff Barry, and the duo of Carole King & Gerry Goffin – all of whim give the foursome some great material, on tunes that include "Theme From The Monkees", "Last Train To Clarksville", "She", "Listen To The Band", "A Little Bit Me A Little Bit You", "Daydream Believer", "Pleasant Valley Sunday", "Steppin Stone", "I'm A Believer", and "I Wanna Be Free". CTI/A&M, 1967. Used ... Out Of Stock
Mindblowing! This is when Wes Montgomery really starts to get interesting to us – when he's working with a top-line arranger like Don Sebesky, crafting some incredibly compelling chords over lightly jazzy arrangements and soaring strings, in a whole new mode of expression that would go onto transform a generation of guitar players! And sure, this album sold a gazillion copies – but we'll be honest in saying that we think it's loads more complex and mature than some of Wes' straight jazz sides from earlier years – light years away from the small combo dates of the early years, both in conception and sound. Titles include "Day In The Life", "Watch What Happens", "California Nights", "Windy", "Trust In Me", and "The Joker". CD

Mocko Jumbie is an unusual skill – a the word stands for stilt dancing at carnival time – something that Hugo Moolenaar could do very well, as you'll see on the cover – although he's even better here on record in a musical mode! The EP brings together four of the best tracks from Hugo's rare records – all of them funky, but in a Caribbean mode – with all these light colors bursting over the top of the lively rhythms – riffing guitar next to basslines, percussion, and keyboards – while Hugo calls out the lyrics with plenty of charm throughout. ✨✧ MoveMovements – 30th Anniversary Anthology (3 CD set) ... CD
Demon/West Side (UK), Late 60s. Used 3 CDs ... Out Of Stock
All 3 Move albums remastered and collected in 1 massive set! This anthology includes basically everything you could ever want by these psychedelic pop maestros – including their self-titled 1st LP, Shazam, Looking On, singles, un-issued tracks, as well as the 1st ever CD version of the live Something Else EP – showcasing each phase of the group's influential career. Essentially the brainchild of songwriter/lead guitarist Roy Wood, the Move were arguably one of the best and most important British groups of the late 60s to never make a dent on the American charts, combining shimmering psych-pop with a harder edge and a sometimes morbid lyrical twist (as evident on the first 2 discs). The 3rd CD contains the band's final album and 1st to feature a new member – guitarist Jeff Lynne (formerly of the Idle Race and future of Electric Light Orchestra) – whose cheerier pop notions proved an interesting, if not frustrating counterpoint to Wood's darker, ironic sensibilities. Wood and Lynne's growing fascination with orchestral rock would cause them to disband the Move in 1972 and form ELO – opening up a new chapter in the history of British rock, but this anthology contains a whopping 54 tracks including; "I Can Hear The Grass Grow", "Lemon Tree", Walk Upon The Water", "Flowers In The Rain", "Fire Brigade", from The Move, "Blackberry Way", "Cherry Blossom Clinic Revisited", and "Beautiful Daughter" from Shazam, and "Brontosaurus", "Looking On", and "Feel Too Good" from Looking On – Essential stuff! ✨✧ Mulatu/HeliocentricsInspiration Information Vol 3 ... LP
Strut (UK), 2009. New Copy 2LP ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A stunner of a joint effort from Ethio jazz funk visionary Mulatu Astatke and psych funk genre-busting combo the Heliocentrics – a record we had the highest hopes for and still find wildly above and beyond our loftiest expectations! The collective touch on some classic Mulatu compositions, but the bulk of the material here is brand new, and purely collaborative – if you know the Helioecentrics or you know Mulatu, you can clearly hear what each bring to the table – and it works together brilliantly! There's often a gritty funk bottom end, the best drums and percussion, fat electric bass lines underneath Ethio jazz inspired sax, trumpet, trombone and flute – swirling psychedelic flourishes with theremin and other effects that never take away from the groove. Mulatu's on vibes, percussion, Wurlitzer, drums and keyboards – and his compositions and the Helios trade back and forth throughout the set. There's some additional Ethiopian instrumentation and atmospheric vocals in the mix on some tunes, and more of an astral, avant funk vibe on others, but there's always a brilliant confluence of styles. Bottom line, the album is everything we wanted it to be and more – this will undoubtedly be favorite for years to come! Titles include "Masenqo", "Cha Cha", "Addis Black Widow", "Mulatu", "Blue Nile", "Esketa Dance", "Chik Chikka", "Live From Tiger Lounge", "Chinese New Year", "Phantom Of The Panther", "Dewel"., "Fire In The Zoo", "An Epic Story" and "Anglo Ethio Suite". A surprisingly nice album of straight ahead tenor tracks from David Murray – playing here in a quartet with guitarist Stanley Franks, drummer Andrew Cyrille, and the great Don Pullen, who plays organ on the session! The album's not exactly in the classic soul jazz organ/tenor mode – but it is one of the few that Murray ever recorded, and it's quite interesting to hear him in this sort of a format. Plus, it was also one of the few recorded during that magic year of 1991 – when DIW really seemed to be getting things right, turning out some of the few truly genius albums in the history of the label. An album that was years ahead of its time – and which still stands as one of the boldest statements from the New York jazz underground of the 60s! The revolutionary styles of the scene were documented by bigger labels like Impulse and Blue Note – but this obscure indie set goes even deeper, and opens up to a special side of the generation that would have lasting influence for years to come – players who work here with a formative free jazz mode, one that begins with the energy of the ESP scene, but also hits some of the more open styles of the loft jazz and European recordings to come! The lineup is legendary – drummer Sonny Murray at the head – with Albert Ayler on tenor, Don Cherry on trumpet, and both Henry Grimes and Louis Worrell on drums – working with unbridled imagination and righteous power. Boots MussulliKenton Jazz Presents Boots Mussulli Quartet – Little Man ... LP
Capitol, 1954. Near Mint- ... $7.99
Easily one of the best of the Kenton Presents series on Capitol – and one of the few albums to ever focus on the genius talents of saxophonist Boots Mussulli! We'd put Boots in the same camp as Charlie Mariano in the 50s – on one hand a clear modernist, with a crisp and fresh tone, and a keen ear for interesting arrangements – but on the other hand, a player with an incredible amount of soul, and a tone that's far more personal than academic! This quartet session features Boots playing in New York, with west coasters Shelly Manne on drums and Max Bennett on bass, as well as pianist Ray Santisi to round out the group. Titles include "El Morocco", "Mutt & Jeff", "Tico Tico", and "Rubber Boots". LP, Vinyl record album

A great tenor saxophonist from the Japanese scene of the 70s – heard here in one of his hippest settings ever! Seiichi Nakamura really knows how to stretch things out, yet still keep things interesting – working here with a strong sense of rhythm that's really augmented by the use of guitar in the group alongside piano, bass, and drums – and instrument handled by Kiyoshi Sugimoto with these wide flares that roll along beautifully and give the rhythm a strong sense of color – while Nakamura blows these brilliantly bold lines over the top! Milton NascimentoMaria Maria/Ultimo Trem ... CD
Far Out (UK), 1976/1980. Used 2 CDs ... $6.99
Interesting, soulful work from Milton Nascimento – two different scores from the 70s, both written for ballet! The approach here is similar to some of his studio work of the time – an sophisticated yet soulful blend of instrumentation and vocals, baroque yet touched with the straightforwardness of rock, and never overly complicated, despite the nature of the setting. The work is essential if you like any of Milton's mid 70s studio albums – and performers on the projects include Joao Donato, Helcio Miltio, Beto Guedes, Nelson Angelo, Novelli, Luis Avellar, Toninho Horta, and Milton himself, leading the groups on both sessions. Titles on the first disc (Maria Maria) include the title track, "Lilia", "A Chamada", "Pai Grande", "Seducao", "Francisco", "Boca A Boca", "De Repente Maria Sumiu", and lots more! Titles on disc two (Ultimo Trem) include "Abertuna: Minas", "Ponta De Areia", "Povo Da Raca Brasil", "A Viagem", "Ultimo Trem", "Roupa Nova", and "Decreto", "Bicho Homem", "A Lua Girou" and more. 36 tracks on two CDs! Elektra, 1965. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
The first full album from the great Fred Neil – recorded for Elektra Records in the years before his underground fame on Capitol – and with a sound that's maybe a bit more bluesy overall, but in a very cool way! Fred's songwriting strengths are very much at play here – as almost all songs are originals – but there's also a tighter focus that compresses most numbers to the 2/3 minute range – instead of making them more of the wispier workouts of later years. The group's quite an interesting one – with on guitar and dobro from Pete Childs, bass from Felix Pappalardi, and harmonica from John Sebastian – all at a young point that has them bringing plenty of folk blues inflections to their performances, but in a way that's completely free of any hoke or cliche. Titles include "Travelin Shoes", "Water Is Wide", "Gone Again", "Candy Man", "Yonder Comes The Blues", and "Little Bit Of Rain". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Anita O'DayCool Heat – Anita O'Day Sings Jimmy Guiffre Arrangements ... LP
Verve, 1959. Near Mint- ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Very cool work from Anita O'Day – a session cut with Jimmy Giuffre arrangements, in a style that's a bit different than some of her other 50s work for Verve! Jimmy brings a nice touch of modernism to the record – casting the horns in ways that show his own love of creative colors and careful phrasing, which makes for a bit more sensitivity than you'd hear on some of her dates with Billy May. Anita really responds to this shift with her vocals – stepping around the tunes carefully, and seeming to slide in alongside Giuffre's horn charts in a really fresh way. The vibe's a bit like that of June Christy on Capitol with Pete Rugolo – which is a great recommendation to us – and titles include "Hershey Bar", "A Lover Is Blue", "Mack The Knife", "You're A Clown", and "Orphan Annie". The record's got a sound that's really hard to peg – not really right for our jazz section, or new grooves – but certainly not rock, and not really global – although global elements clearly influence some of the rhythms on the record too. The third album from symphonic rock pioneer Mike Oldfield – at this point unable to steer his way out of the engulfing shadow of his massive Tubular Bells album of a couple years earlier – yet still bearing fruit creatively, as Ommadawn is his third excellent and pretty much unprecedented album of layered instrumental mood rock grandeur in a row! It's not only his third album, it's his third 2 part, single piece epic in a row that's woven from acoustic, electric, classic and modern instrumentation – with a choir and and folk instrumentation keeping in something of an earthy realm, even with synthezisers and more otherworldly touches. Philips/Universal (Japan), 1973. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
Quite possibly the clearest moment of genius ever from the legendary Hermeto Pascoal – a tremendous album that helped reshape instrumental Brazilian music for many years to come! At one level, the record shares a sound with some of the fuller, richer orchestrations going on in the post-bossa years – especially the work of Edu Lobo and Marcos Valle – but at another, it's filled with the kind of inventive instrumental interplay that's always made Hermeto so great, but which has never come off so perfectly as it does here! As you might expect from Pascoal, there's some especially great reed passages – crafted in a flurry of colors and tones – but there's also a warmer, more flowing quality to the whole album – less of the dark notes and pointy edges that show up often in Hermeto's work from later years. Bits of strings help the whole thing glide tremendously – and the record's a genre-busting blend of jazz, Brazilian roots, and complicated arrangements – unlike anything else we've ever heard, and still one of our favorite albums of all time! Titles include "Bebe", "Asa Branca", "Carinhoso", "Plin", "Gaio Da Roseira", and "Sereiarei". CD

Ray Brown is on bass and Ed Thigpen is on drums – and tracks include "Bag's Groove", "Georgia On My Mind", "Easy Does It", "Band Call", and "Night Train". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Oscar Peterson TrioBursting Out – With The All Star Big Band ... CD
Verve, 1962. Used ... Out Of Stock
A tremendous little record, Bursting Out has Oscar Peterson really pushing the fuller, stronger sound he started with his trio of Ray Brown and Ed Thigpen – a set that features additional backings by Ernie Wilkins behind the core sound of the piano combo! The mode here is in that "all soul" style of Peterson's huge-selling Verve albums from the time – but the addition of a larger group makes for a mode that's even fresher – because Oscar rarely used any larger backings, so the record's a real standout! Hearing the strength of the tracks, we're a bit surprised that Peterson never made more albums like this – because there seems to be added inspiration from Wilkins' presence, giving Oscar even more focus and drive on his solos. A rare outing, but a great one – with titles that include "Blues For Big Scotia", "Tricotism", "Manteca", "I'm Old Fashioned", "West Coast Blues", "Here's That Rainy Day", and "I Love You". CD

Blue Note, 1989. Used ... $9.99
One of the boldest artists on the revived Blue Note label in the late 80s – drummer Ralph Peterson, working here with a really great group of younger talents too! The fire of the musicians really hints at all the power they'd unleash in the coming decade – and the group features Steve Wilson on alto and soprano sax, Terence Blanchard on trumpet, and Geri Allen on piano – each bursting with new ideas and a very youthful sort of energy – streaming new sounds and thoughts at just about every moment. Wilson's especially great – and titles include "Monief", "Enemy Within", "Bebopskerony", and "Viola's Dance". CD

Pointer SistersBreak Out ... LP
Planet, 1983. Near Mint- ... $14.99
The album's no breakout for the Pointer Sisters, as the trio were already at the top of the charts when the set was released – but the whole thing does find a great way to keep the grooves coming in the group's lasting relationship with producer Richard Perry! There's plenty of 80s elements here – basslines, beats, and keyboards – moving the group way past some of the club and pop modes of the 70s – and keeping them perfectly poised for long-term crossover fame for years to come! Case in point is the album's long-running hit "Jump (For My Love)", nestled alongside other cuts that include "Automatic", "I'm So Excited", "I Need You", "Neutron Dance", "Easy Persuasion", "Baby Come And Get It", "Telegraph Your Love", and "Operator". Digitmovies (Italy), 1966. New Copy ... $19.99 39.99
Rare work from composer Robby Poitevin – a great action score, put together with a heavy dose of jazz – great vibes, flute, and plenty of other horns – blasting out with a hip style over lots of tight percussion – almost in the manner of spy films from the time, but with a lot more complexity at points, almost the depths of a drama, without any of the sleepy moments – maybe at a level that rivals some of the best Lalo Schifrin work of the period! There's plenty of drama in the progression of tunes, but things are always pretty darn groovy – jazzy 60s action at its best – on titles that include "Alba A New York", "Central Station", "My Man", "L'Ultima Vittima", "Bassifondi", "Clint In Agguato", and "Tecnica Di Un Omicido". David PomeranzTime To Fly (Japanese paper sleeve edition) ... CD
Decca/Big Pink (South Korea), 1971. New Copy Gatefold ... $18.99 24.99
A great early album from David Pomeranz – a great 70s singer/songwriter who got the chance to record often, but never seemed to achieve the fame he deserved! This set's clearly got the Decca label investing heavily in David's talents – as he gets great production from Charles Callelo, who also helped with the arrangements – and uses an all-star group of jazz players who include Chick Corea and Jan Hammer on piano, Randy Brecker on trumpet, Joe Farrell on tenor, John Tropea on guitar, Billy Cobham on drums, and both Airto and David Friedman on percussion – players who really bring an instrumental complexity to the record that matches the inspiration of the well-penned tunes by Pomeranz. David himself also plays guitar and piano at times – and titles include "Dagger", "Hideaway Suite", "First", "Father Thoughts", "City Show", "I Need Time To Fly", "We Loved Just Fine", and "Day Prayer". Saravah (France), 1981. Very Good+ ... $11.99 13.99
A fairly interesting soundtrack from French avant sax player Michel Portal – recorded with a host of like-minded talents that include Daniel Humair, JF Jenny Clark, Louis Sclavis, and Maurice Vander. The range of the tracks is pretty surprising – from spare sax solos by Portal, to Latin-tinged tunes and tangos, to spacey soundscapes with a mixture of jazz and electronics. All titles have that Saravah or Nato approach to the work, though – with a style of avant garde that's never too angry, never too overblown, and which always stops for a bit of whimsy. Titles include "Conil", "Adios", "J'Accepte", "Palais De La Decouverte", and "Azpeitia". LP, Vinyl record album

MGM/Strawberry (UK), Mid 60s. New Copy 2CDs ... $18.99 24.99
A long-overdue look at the short but rich career of Sandy Posey on MGM Records – presented here in a set of four full albums, plus bonus non-LP singles too! Posey has a very unique approach, music that's a little bit country and a little bit pop – and which carries a distinct sound that really sets Sandy apart from so many other of her 60s contemporaries! Posey's approach is always a bit hard to peg, and that's what makes it great – a southern singer, working in Tennessee – but with soulful production from Chips Moman that pushes things both past the poppier side of Nashville, and some of the lighter girl singer modes of the east coast too – really on the cusp of something wonderful, and cresting nicely in all sorts of really wonderful ways – as distinct for Sandy maybe as Roy Orbison's special blend was for him. Chips Moman produced almost all the work here, although he gets a bit of help from Joe South near the end – and the 2CD set features 55 tracks in all, including "Born A Woman", "What A Woman In Love Won't Do", "All Hung Up In Your Green Eyes", "Deep In Kentucky", "Handy", "The Big Hurt", "Sunglasses", "Miss Lonely", "Single Girl", "Shattered", "Ways Of The World", "Take Me With You Baby", "I Take It Back", and "Bread & Butter". ✨✧ Bud PowellBud Powell Trio Plays ... CD
Roulette/EMI, 1947/1953. Used ... Out Of Stock
Seminal sounds from the great Bud Powell – recorded right at an early moment when the pianist was bursting into Birdland fame – working here with a key trio that features Curley Russell on bass and a young Max Roach on drums! Bud seems to have a bit more color in his keys here than in later years – a sense of tone that's balanced by his increasingly deft flights on the keys – that amazing command of imagination and energy that makes a record like this one of the best bold statements of modernism from the bop generation. Many tunes are older standards, but transformed in Bud's hands – partly given a nod to the midtown modes from other players of the postwar years, then completely dismantled once the solos take off. Titles include "Buds Bubble", "Burt Covers Bud", "Off Minor", "I Should Care", "I'll Remember April", and "Everything Happens To Me". CD features 16 tracks in all! CD

✨✧ Bud PowellPortrait Of Thelonious (Japanese pressing) ... CD
Columbia (Japan), 1961. Used ... Out Of Stock
Quite an interesting session from Bud Powell – a tribute to Thelonious Monk, recorded in Paris in 1961, but not issued until 1965, shortly before his death. Cannonball Adderley was the producer on the session, and it's got the same sort of groundbreaking approach as some of the other Cannonball-produced albums for Riverside from the same stretch – a bit more farther reaching than the players' work in an ordinary setting. Powell's take on the Monk sound is a very unusual one – a bit more fragile and tentative than Monk's own interpretations of the material, but performed with an equal commitment to a modern sound overall. Backing is from Kenny Clarke on drums and Pierre Michelot on bass – and titles include "No Name Blues", "Ruby My Dear", "Off Minor", "Squatty", and "Thelonious". CD

✨✧ Bud PowellReturn of Bud Powell ... CD
Roulette/Fresh Sound (Spain), 1964. Used ... Just Sold Out!
Interesting sides from Bud Powell – billed on the front as "his first new recordings since 1958", which isn't really the case, since he did cut some work while living in Paris. And even more interesting, the liner notes describe Powell as "back on the US jazz scene, cured of TB and fat as a Burgermeister" – completely hiding the troubles which still plagued him, and which would take him shortly after the time of this session! The material's maybe not prime work by Bud, but it's still pretty great – with more than a few nice moments on the solos – and backing by John Ore on bass, and JC Moses on drums – which keeps things moving at a nice pace. Titles include "I Remember Clifford", "Hallucinations", "If I Loved You", and "Green Dolphin Street". CD

Mainstream/Jazz Heritage, Mid 60s. Used ... Out Of Stock
Some of the last recordings we've ever seen from bop legend Bud Powell – a mix of solo and trio material that still shows the pianist bursting with imagination! The origin of the tracks is a bit obscure – they're listed on the original album as "compiled by Experience Group Ltd" – and Powell's also working with an unknown bassist and drummer, so there's not much we can tell you about the details of the recording – but as usual, Bud speaks volumes on the piano, which hardly needs much in the way of words from us! ✨✧ Bud Powell/Don ByasTribute To Cannonball (with bonus track) ... CD
Columbia, 1961. Used ... Out Of Stock
A gem of a session from the European expatriot scene of the postwar years – not really a tribute to Cannonball Adderley, but a rare meeting of Bud Powell and Don Byas in the studio, produced by Cannonball in Paris in 1961! The record has a tremendous amount of fire and focus – especially on the part of Powell, who could sometimes falter in a European setting – and although Byas' horn might seem a contrasting choice for Bud, he really burns with a lot of energy here – arcing, soaring, and turning with lines that show that his talents hadn't dimmed at all out of the American limelight. As always with his few productions from the time, Cannonball shows a great deal of sensitivity and patience with the players – probably a key factor of the success of the set. Also noteworthy is the rest of the group – which includes Idrees Sulieman on trumpet, Pierre Michelot on bass, and Kenny Clarke on drums. Titles include "Jeannine", "Just One Of Those Things", "All The Things You Are", "I Remember Clifford", and "Jackie My Little Cat". CD

A dark and murky classic from Prince Far I – a set that has his words of wisdom brewing up amidst a whole host of dubby productions from Joe Gibbs! The Prince takes dub production to fresh territory here – toasting over the tracks, but in a way that's very different than some of the more upbeat modes that you might find when a dee jay was working a crowd – and instead moodier, and more in his mind – with a sinister edge that really makes the album stand out, and which is maybe the blue print for the On-U Sound generation to come! ✨✧ Psychic TVDreams Less Sweet ... LP
Holophonic (UK), 1983. Very Good+ 2LP ... $59.99
One of the greatest moments ever from Psychic TV – and a really stunning surprise after the breakup of Throbbing Gristle! Genesis P Orridge and Peter Cristopherson go in a completely different direction here – a mode that still holds onto some of the noise lessons learned in TG, but which also shows this incredible love of both more complicated pop modes from the 60s, and some of the farther reaches of minimalism as well! The album sports these tremendous ballads with eerie vocals by Genesis – including "The Orchids" and "White Nights" – which are both eerie recastings of an older mode of UK pop love songs – and there's other tracks that maybe echo a bit of Meredith Monk, or some of the underground experimentalists on the Lovely Records scene – including bits that have weird phone rings, dog barks, and other great touches. A spare and subtle use of noise and darker sounds wends its way throughout – but never with the heavier handed touches of later years – and titles include "Hymn 23", "The Orchids", "Botanica", "Iron", "Glove", "Always Is Always", "White Nights", "Finale", "Eleusis", "Medmenham", "Ancient Lights", "Proof On", "Eden 1 Eden 2 Eden 3", "Clouds Without Water", "Black Moon", "Silver And Gold", "In The Nursery", and "Circle". Virgin/Light In The Attic, 1978. New Copy Gatefold (reissue)... Temporarily Out Of Stock
An incredible debut from Public Image Limited – one of the most striking records of its generation, and a huge surprise – given that the Sex Pistols had broken up just a few months before! The record is the key transition of Johnny Rotten into John Lydon – and the whole thing is light years ahead of the Pistols in terms of boundless creativity and originality – different from Lydon's own earlier revolutionary punk act and different from pretty much everything else on the late 70s landscape – even darker than punk, if you can imagine that! The dissonant, driving post punk guitars and sneering vocals are recognizable, sure – but the dubby textures and more angular touches are so far outside the box and so hugely influential that it's hard to fathom myriad underground rock acts existing without it. Of course, part of the credit also goes to the amazing band that John Lydon assembled to put the whole thing together – a quartet that includes incredible guitar from Keith Levene, and heady bass from Jah Wobble – both key parts of the sound. Columbia, 1962. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
Joe Quijano was one of the greatest all-around Latin bandleaders of the early 60s – and this rare session for Columbia shows him capably moving through a wide range of material, from mambo, to bossa, to cha cha cha! The bossa material is especially interesting – in that it's got more of a New York early 60s quality, in which the local Latin band were trying to match the bossa rhythms, but with a rawer, more rhythmic quality normally attached to their usual work. The result is some very unusual (but great!) versions of bossa tunes like "One Note Samba", "Desafinado", and "Corcovado", plus other tracks like "L'Apache", "Alaska", and "Lamento Borincano". There's even a lively version of "Hava Nagilhah", which is more than proof that the New York Latin groups made a big part of their money playing for Jewish audiences! LP, Vinyl record album

An expanded version of the material that originally appeared on the Nothing Is album – stretched out here into a 2CD set that features loads of extra unreleased cuts from the recordings! The core album is one of the best non-Saturn Sun Ra albums of the 60s – material recorded live on a tour of New York colleges in 1966, and very much in a spirit that captures the Arkestra at their best! Longer tracks are juxtaposed nicely with shorter ones – in a way that has the group running very outside one minute, yet stepping soulfully back to the center the next – never schizophrenicly, but in a mode that really displays the full range of energy pulsing in the group. Interesting instrumentation on the set includes Ra on clavoline, plus Carl Nimrod on the beautiful-sounding "sun horn" – and other players include Marshall Allen on alto, John Gilmore on tenor, Pat Patrick on baritone, and James Jacson on log drum and flute. This 2CD version features both a first and second set, with even a bit of material from a soundcheck, too – a total of 25 titles that include "Theme Of The Star Gazers #2", "Is Is Eternal", "The Exotic Forest #2", "Space Aura", "Velvet", "Dancing Shadows", "Next Stop Mars", "Outerspaceways", "Shadow World", and "Sun Ra and His Band From Outer Space". The 2 key Sun Ra albums for ESP records – back to back on one CD! The work here is a bit more intense than usual – almost cerebral at times, with very contemplative passages on percussion and reeds, offset by strong piano lines from Ra – all in a mode that marks a sharp break from earlier Saturn albums, and almost makes us wonder if Ra was pitching the sound of the Arkestra towards a more academic audience for his time on ESP. Heliocentric 2 is our favorite here – as it features a few more rhythmic numbers, some interesting percussion, and nice use of clavioline by Ra. One of the rarest Sun Ra albums ever – and one of the most enigmatic, too! Strange Strings is a very unique session recorded with an otherworldly sound – heavily steeped in the use of "electronic strings", amplified string instruments recorded with crazy echo and other effects, almost sounding like analogue electronics at times. The set also uses a variety of percussion instruments – including "log drum" and "lightning drum" – and Ra plays a bit of electronic piano on it as well as a variety of interesting percussion instruments. And if that's not enough, the whole album ends with the spooky sound of Thlan Aldridge on "space voice"! A hell of a great jazz guitarist – working here in a really wonderful setting – a live date that both lets Jimmy Raney hit some beautifully intimate moments out front, but also lets him swing a bit too – thanks to help from Sam Jones on bass and Leroy Williams on drums! Raney still has that raspy tone that we first fell in love with on his 50s records – a clarity on the strings that easily made him one of the most important jazz guitarists of the time – but he's also got a more mature sense of chromes, which creates this beautiful dance of tones as his fingers move along the strings of the guitar – always clear in his vision, but still working with a sense of surprise that always keeps things interesting. Titles include "How About You", "Darn That Dream", "Here's That Rainy Day", "Stella By Starlight", "Watch What Happens", and "Anthropology". CD features the bonus track "Just Friends". CD

✨✧ Record Collector's Special IssueCity Pop Best 100 – 1973 to 1989 ... Book
Record Collector (Japan), 2020. New Copy ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A well-done guide to the legendary years of city pop music in Japan – and one that's got way more than the hundred albums hinted at by the title! The book follows the format of other Japanese disc guides – with images of key records in the genre, mostly presented in full color – alongside other text in Japanese, which you can easily read using Google Translate or a similar app on your phone, via the camera. Even without that text, though, there's plenty here to steer you towards important records in this under-discovered genre that's only know beginning to get appreciation by English-speaking listeners. The book presents an initial top 100 of the most important records – but then continues into sections with listings for hundreds more records, divided by key artists – almost all with color reproductions of the covers, next to a few black and white. Book is 265 pages in all, with listings for hundreds of city pop records! Book

Record CultureRecord Culture Magazine – Issue 9 (with bonus book) ... Magazine
Record Culture, 2021. New Copy ... $22.99 24.00
Record Culture is even cooler than ever – as this issue comes with a bonus book as well! But first, the magazine – this issue has the same great format as the others – a book-style package, filled with beautiful full color photos of record collectors, vinyl culture, and other cool bits from around the world – all put together to show that the love of records knows no boundaries, and is still more vibrant now than it was back in the 20th Century! There's a great article in this issue on Twilite Tone – a Chicago hero from way back, given plenty of space for his career and love of vinyl – and the issue also has features on Gerd Janson, June Jones, Eug, Vanessa Worm, Sebastien Dellier, and Bradley Zero – again, based on their interest and use of records. And lastly, there's a very interesting feature – postcards sent to the Time & Space radio show at WNYU! 211 pages, full color, and more like a softcover book. Then, you also get the very cool book – Second Generation – a collection of Chicago house music flyers from the years 1991 to 200 – dozens of pages of ads for gigs and shows, all in full color, pulled from the archives of Mark Farina and Alicia Prior. Record Time, 2024. New Copy ... $11.99 12.99
The debut issue of a very cool magazine – one that's written straight from the record racks – where the authors have picked up some of the weirdest and wildest vinyl you've ever seen! And the racks here aren't the ones in the front of the store, with the hits – and are instead way in the back, where the oddball and unusual are stocked – served up here in a host of different articles that are all illustrated with black and white images of the records, which will soon have you trolling your local stores for all the goofy goodies like these! The contents listed on the cover don't really get at the big range of contents within – as the articles open up to include all sorts of odd records along the way – in a listing that must be read to be believed. Classic first album of avant noise and psych from the Texas underground, featuring seminal early work by Mayo Thompson, and a mind-blasting set of tracks that mixes straight songs with the group's trademark "free form freak outs". Redd Holt UnlimitedIsaac, Isaac, Isaac ... CD
P-Vine (Japan), 1974. Used ... $29.99
An excellent album by Isaac Redd Holt – one half of the incredible Young-Holt rhythm team, bursting out nicely here on his own! This is Redd's second album – first for Paula, as the other one was a jazz effort on Argo back in the 60s – and it's a wild blend of jazz, funk, and a lot of other weird sounds. The introduction's totally cool, and features Redd running through a list of hip little clubs in American cities, then the album launches into the great "Listen to the Drums", which has a tight pounding groove, and moves on to a whole bunch of other jazzy cuts like "Flo", "Slow Funk", and "Let the Spirit In". Redd sings a bit, which isn't too bad (mostly), but it's the grooves that will keep you coming back. Very much in the spirit of Roy Porter's legendary funk albums – but probably a bit tighter! CD
(Out of print, 2001 Japanese pressing – includes obi!)

Dianne ReevesI Remember ... CD
Blue Note, 1991. Used ... $0.99
One of the greatest early moments from Dianne Reeves – a set that's still steeped in plenty of jazz, but one that also has the singer coming across with a more personally poetic vibe as well – a quality that opens up Reeves in ways we never would have expected a few years before! Dianne really comes across with an intimate feel on the ballads – almost more in a soul-styled approach – but can still swing the best jazz numbers too – with some especially inventive arrangements that really keep things interesting. Titles include "Afro Blue", "I Remember Sky", "Love For Sale", "Softly As In A Morning Sunrise", "How High The Moon", "For All We Know", and "You Taught My Heart To Sing". CD

Jeannie ReynoldsCherries, Bananas & Other Fine Things ... LP
Casablanca, 1976. Near Mint- ... $19.99
A great little album from Jeannie Reynolds – and her lasting contribution to underground soul! Jeannie's vocals are nice and deep – with hints of southern diva phrasing, filtered through some of the tighter soul styles coming out of Chicago and other points north at the time! Detroit talents LJ Reynolds, Tony Hester, and Don Davis produce – save for one song by Michael Henderson – and the big highlight is the slow groover "The Fruit Song", a sly seductive stepper of a track, with rolling congas, sweeping strings, and a very catchy hook from Jeannie. That number runs for about 7 minutes long – and the album also includes a number of nice shorter cuts, like "I've Still Got My Pride", "The Feelin' Ain't There", and "You Want To Get Your Hands On A Woman" – all wonderful numbers that will have you loving Jeannie as one of your favorite new discoveries in 70s soul! Smokey Robinson & The MiraclesPocket Full Of Miracles ... LP
Tamla, 1969. Very Good+ ... $9.99
A great one by The Miracles! Smokey and the group are clearly pushing the envelope here – stretching out for a deeper harmony sound, moving towards some of the smoother styles they'd use a bit more in the 70s. The result is a slightly-confused album, but one with some really interesting material that gives the group a chance to experiment more with their vocal phrasing. Includes the heavy soul number "Flower Girl", plus the tracks "Who's Gonna Take The Blame", "Darling Dear", "The Reel Of Time", "Wishful Thinking", "Point It Out", and "Don't Take It So Hard". Also features a great medley of "Something" and "Something You Got". LP, Vinyl record album
(Original pressing. Cover has a cutout hole and light wear.)
