A sweet little set from mid 60s Capitol Records – a wonderful blend of jazz and percussion, handled by two of the most inventive musicians on the LA scene! JackMarshall's probably best known for his excellent arrangements for the label on sets with singers – but here, he's playing guitar alongside the percussion of ShellyManne – who handles a whole host of unusual instruments, always with the fluid swing he brought to his jazz recordings of the 50s! There's definitely a lot more jazz going on here than the heavier percussion you'd hear on a bachelor pad record of this nature – and the open strings on Marshall's guitar make for plenty of nice bossa inflections, too. Titles include "Theme From Lawrence Of Arabia", "Yesterdays", "The Girls of Sao Paulo", "The Rain in Spain", and "Choros". LP, Vinyl record album
