VariousLarry Levan's Paradise Garage – The Legend Of Dance Music Vol 2 ... CD
Salsoul (Japan), Late 70s/Early 80s. Used ... $18.99
The best of the glory days of the New York club scene – 10 classic Salsoul tracks, most of which ware presented here in Larry Levan remix versions! The original tunes are massive enough, but here, they're expanded nicely with some really groove-tripping touches – more keyboards, added percussion, and nice little flourishes that change up the tunes in very cool ways. Titles include "Love Thang" by First Choice, "I Got My Mind Made Up" by Instant Funk, "First Time Around" by Skyy, "Thousand Finger Man" by Candido, "Let No Man Put Asunder" by First Choice, "Catch Me On The Rebound" by Loleatta Holloway, "You're Just The Right Size" by Salsoul Orchestra, "By The Way You Dance" by Bunny Sigler, and "Salsoul Hustle" by Salsoul Orchestra. Salsoul/Big Break (UK), 1977. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
Ahhhh . . . The Salsoul Orchestra at its finest, with Vince Montana at the helm, crafting some superb arrangements that have all of the positivity of the best funky club groove that made the group great – without any of the disco schlock of their contemporaries! The group's format is still head and shoulders above most of its imitators here – a perfect balance of larger orchestrations and tighter rhythms for the club – handled with all the best Philly elements that Montana brings to play. Titles include the superb soul track "Run Away", which features excellent lead vocals by Loleatta Holloway – one of her best tracks ever – and other instrumental titles include the funky "Getaway", plus "Magic Bird Of Fire", "It's A New Day", and "Alpha Centuri". CD features two bonus tracks – "Run Away (Danny Krivit re-edit)" and "Magic Bird Of Fire (Walter Gibbons disco madness rmx)". CD

✨✧ VariousDance Your Ass Off To Salsoul Remixes ... CD
Salsoul/Ultra, Late 70s/2013. New Copy Gatefold ... Out Of Stock
The title borrows a slogan from the late 70s disco years at Salsoul Records – but the groove here is 21st Century all the way – thanks to a host of very contemporary-styled mixes that take older classics from the label, and infuse them with a modern dancefloor groove! Even back in the day, Salsoul had a great ear for key club talents who could expand on their strong blueprints for disco grooves – and here, they re-show that same strength, but in a completely different way! Titles include "I Got My Mind Made Up (DJ Dan rmx)" by Instant Funk, "Jingo (Federico Scavo rmx)" by Candido, "Doctor Love (White Noize rmx)" by First Choice, "Love Break (Stephane Luke rmx)" by Salsoul Orchestra, "I Never Knew" by Jessie Andrews, "Find Somebody (J Paul Ghetto rmx)" by Inner Life, "Hit & Run (Joe T Vannelli diva rmx)" by Loleatta Holloway, and "By The Way You Dance (Julien Jabre rmx)" by Bunny Sigler.
