RaekwonIce Cream/Incarcerated Scarfaces ... 7-inch
Loud/Get On Down, 1995. New Copy (pic cover, reissue)... $9.99 12.98
Two tracks from Only Built For Cuban Linx – a standout early Wu Tang solo effort and a record that stands to this day still one of the best Wu-associated LP ever!. Production from RZA at the height of his skills. "Ice Cream" , features Ghost Face, Method Man, and Cappadonna and is one of the funnier hip hop "love songs" of the period – "I love you like I love my d*** size"?! "Incarcerated Scarfaces" is the more serious minded flip. 7-inch, Vinyl record

Wu-Tang/Loud, 1999. Near Mint- 2LP ... $6.99
The second solo album by The Chef – a record that had hard time finding space outside the massive shadow of his first solo landmark Only Built 4 Cuban Linx – and like other Wu Tang solo albums of the era, there's a number of gems on here that really never had a chance to get over a bar set set so high. Titles include "Yae Yo", "Casablanca", the Pete Rock produced near classic "Sneakers", "Raw", "Pop S**t", My Favorite Dred", "Live From New York", "100 Rounds", "Power", and "Forecast". ✨✧ RaekwonOnly Built 4 Cuban Linx Pt 2 ... CD
IHR/EMI, 2009. Used ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
The long awaited Cuban Linx Pt 2 from Raekwon – and one of those late model Wu Tang efforts that reminds us of how vital the Wu Tang were in their prime, as well as how sharp the still are when the moons align and the pieces fall into place! OBFCL Pt 2 is indeed one of those rare newer Wu sets that stands up proudly with the first wave. Sure, it's might not be an eternal classic, but the best stuff here is incredible. Rugged & raw, with intricate crack game noir from a master. 22 tracks in all: the bone chilling J Dilla beat backed gem "House Of Flying Daggers" feat Inspectah Deck, Ghostface and Meth, "Sonny's Missing" (produced by Pete Rock), "Cold Outside" feat Ghostface, "Black Mozart" feat RZA & Inspectah Deck, "Catalina" feat Lyfe Jennings and "About Me" (both produced by Dr Dre), "We Will Rob You" feat Slick Rick, Masta Killa & GZA, "Kiss The Ring" feat Inspectah Deck & Masta Killa, "10 Bricks" feat Cappadonna & Ghostface and many more. ✨✧ Big PunisherCapital Punishment ... LP
Loud/Get On Down, 1998. New Copy 2LP (reissue)... $22.99
The late 90s all caps CLASSIC by Big Pun – a precise rhyme spitter who, sadly, wouldn't live long enough drop follow up masterpiece in his lifetime, but will always have Capital Punishment. Pun was a big mean, but his flow his lean and precise, and while there's some brief throwaway moments, he's is sharp form throughout. Production wise, Loud Record seemed to control the secret formula for a perfect mix of commericial success and straight dope hip hop at the end of the 90s, and this record is no exception. Guest appearances by Black Thought of The Roots, Raekwon, Fat Joe and more. Includes "Dream Shatterer", "I'm Not A Player", "You Came Up", "Fast Money", "Tres Leches", "Glamour Life" and "Super Lyrical". LP, Vinyl record album

J DillaJay Stay Paid ... LP
Nature Sounds, 2009. New Copy 2LP ... $18.99
An excellent full length set of beats & genius from J Dilla – put together by fellow beatmaker extraordinaire Pete Rock, with all Dilla beats – a surprising triumph! Call us jaded, but honestly, we weren't sure how deep the well could go of ready-to-go beats from Dilla, but this stuff is truly top shelf – nearly as strong as the instant classic Donuts from a few years back! Pete Rock crafts the set as if it's a radio show or mixtape, but his skill in so doing is well above and beyond the norm – neither Pete's interjections nor the guest rappers ever get in the way of the flow, it's as smooth as can be. Vocal guests include Ma Dukes (the album was made under Ma's auspices), plus Lil Fame & MOP, Black Thought, Frank Nitty of Frank N Dank, Doom, Illa J & Cue D, Blu, and others. Titles include "King", "I Told Yall", "Smoke" feat Blu, "CaDILLAc". "Fire Wood Drumstix" feat Doom, "Big Day", "24K Rap" feat Havoc of Mobb Deep & Raekwon, "Coming Back", "Mythsysizer" and more. 27 tracks in all, about an hour of unreleased Dilla! Slick RickArt Of Storytelling ... LP
Def Jam, 1999. Sealed 2LP ... $24.99
The Art of Storytelling is right, with lots of the short stories MC Ricky Dee's known for. To our ears, the best Slick Rick LP since his classic first LP from way back when. Nice laid back mid-tempo production throughout with numerous guest appearances including Raekwon, Nas, and Outcast that work nicely, with the MC's adapting their style to Slick Rick's, rather than just doing their usual material – even Snoop sounds dope on "Unify." As a bonus, there's three live tracks with Doug E. Fresh, including "The Show" and "La Di Da Di." Stand out tracks include "I Own America Parts I and II", "Kill Niggaz", "Frozen" with Raekwon, "I Own America", "Why Why Why". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Doom (MF Doom)Born Like This ... LP
Lex, 2009. New Copy 2LP ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Doom is back, sans the MF prefix, fully loaded with funky sci fi hip hop that's fit to shake the heavens – his first record in far too long, and a strong one! We don't know where the masked man holed himself up in the couple years before this set, nor do we pay much attention to the rumors and gossip (he's locked up! he's sending out imposters!), but it doesn't matter, as he's come back sharp. We hear less Marvel Comics in the beats, and more spacey, blunt funk – particularly on the handful of tracks that have additional instrumentation by Mr Chop – with guests including Raekwon, Ghostface, Slug, Bumpy Knuckles, Posdnous & Prince Paul – plus additional production by Dilla, Madlib, and Jake One! There's some great stuff here, and whether the guy is truly certifiable or if it's all a put on, we love 'em either way. Stay close by, Doom! Titles include "Gazzilion Ear", "Ballskin", "Lightworks", "Batty Boyz", "Rap Ambush", "Stil Dope", "Microwave Mayo", "Supervillainz", "Bumpy's Message" and more. LP, Vinyl record album

A couple of the finest slices of timeless Wu school hip hip meets giallo soundtrack funk from Ghostface Killah and producer-composer Adran Younge! "Return Of The Savage" features rhymes by Ghost and Raekwon and narration by The RZA – flavored by spooky strings and wordless vocals. Linear Labs, 2015. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
A superior sequel to Ghostface Killah & Adrian Younge's Twelve Reasons To Die saga – cementing the mid teens Ghostface creative resurgence in a major way – with some of the finest production work by Younge to date! It's a stunning reminder of how sharp Ghostface can be this late in the game when he's really feeling it, and he's a gracious host here, too – collaborating with Raekwon on the mic throughout the record, even featuring some moody narration by RZA – and seriously impressive guest appearances by Scarab, Lyrics Born, Chino XL and Bilal. There's a real mythology to the project, with a loose, but genuinely compelling narrative arc – combining prime Wu school crime noir rhymes and soundtrack funk production inspired by giallo, Blacksploitation and Younge's own distinct genius.
