Les Baxter/MikeCurb/The 13th Power —
Wild In The Streets ... LP Tower, 1968. Very Good- Gatefold ...
$1.99
Hilarious! This is the soundtrack to a goofy late 60s shocker film about the time when hippies and young folks would take over America. Les Baxter handled the musical score for the film, but the real treat is the schlocky rock tracks – written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, with arrangements by MikeCurb in that fuzzy Tower/AIP mode! The lyrics are hysterical, but also oddly catchy, even though they're trying to make fun of 60s rock. Titles include "Psychedelic Senate", "Fourteen Or Fight", "Wild In The Streets", "Sally LeRoy", and "Free Lovin". LP, Vinyl record album
(Cover has light wear, spot of clear tape on the top & bottom seams.)
Classic 60s throwaway bubble gum pop to go with this soundtrack to the 60s Saturday morning cartoon Hot Wheels! All tracks have vocals, and the sound is somewhere between The Sunrays and The Lovin Spoonful – maybe not nearly as clever as either of them, but still pretty cool nonetheless, and produced by MikeCurb with a sound that's a lot better than a lot of his other work of the time. Titles include "Mothers", "It's Magic", "Sky Hawks", "Come Back Baby", and "Words & Music". LP, Vinyl record album
MikeCurb & The Waterfall —
Doors Songbook ... LP Forward, Late 60s. Near Mint- ...
Out Of Stock
MikeCurb serves up some very groovy takes on music by The Doors – warmer than the originals, but still pretty hip – thanks to arrangements from Michael Lloyd! LP, Vinyl record album
One of the groovier soundtracks that MikeCurb ever recorded – a light batch of easy numbers with some electric bass and/or guitar at the bottom – tripping with a bit more punch than you might expect, and floating with some really wonderful instrumental touches at times! In a way, this is almost an easy version of Curb's biker/soundtrack albums – a bit cheesy, a bit hip, and featuring a few vocal numbers. Titles include "His Name", "The Big Bounce", "Once In A Lifetime", "The Boss Man", "Little Pickle", and "Throwing Rocks". LP, Vinyl record album
MikeCurb was a big boss at this time at MGM, which meant he could record moody vocal group albums like this one, and try to pass them off to the kiddies. Breezy and cheezy, with a few hits and some originals. LP, Vinyl record album

Danyel Gerard —
Danyel Gerard ... LP Verve/MGM, 1972. Very Good Gatefold ...
$5.99
A weird bit of folk funk rock – and a totally cool record on early 70s Verve! The album was recorded during the MikeCurb years at MGM – and has a similar pop crossover, adult hip kind of sound to some of Curb's other big success stories. The sound's an unusual blend of folk and growing 70s pop modes – and the track "Let's Love" is a nice spacey groover with a flanged-out pop sound. Songs include "Butterfly", "From Japan To America", "Low Lay Low", "Teddy Bear", "Harlequin", "Caroline", "Face Of A Clown", "The Gun", "Rain", "Elie Lama Sabacthani", and "Let's Love". LP, Vinyl record album
Classic kitschy biker material from Davie Allan and The Arrows – one of the best-ever groups to play on schlocky soundtracks during the 60s! There's lots of guitar and lots of fuzz – and guessing from the photos of the movie, the music was the best thing about it! Toddler MikeCurb put the whole thing together – but the vibe is much more like some of Allan's excellent guitar instrumental albums of the time – apart from the few more standard rock band tracks you'd find in Curb's other productions from the period. Most of the album's instrumental Arrows work – and tracks include "The Chase", "Bongo Party", "Blues Theme", "Theme From Wild Angels", and "The Unknown Rider" – plus the vocal cuts "Theme From The Wild Angels" by The Visitors and "Midnight Rider" by The Hands Of Time. LP, Vinyl record album
(Duophonic stereo pressing.)

Band Without A Name, Sidewalk Sounds, & Others —
Thunder Alley ... LP Sidewalk, 1967. Very Good+ ...
Out Of Stock
A wild little soundtrack that's equal parts biker and hot rod – a great rocking rarity that really bridges two sub-genres of rockish sounds in the 60s! The set's one of MikeCurb's great soundtracks for AIP – and like some of the others, it features a set of lesser-known talents coming together in a batch of tracks that works equally well as a rock album or a soundtrack! Some cuts have vocals, other feature fuzzy guitars riffing away instrumentally – a bit more surf/hot rod than psych, but still nice and trippy at times – and the lineup features the great "Theme From Thunder Alley" by Band Without A Name –plus "Pete's Orgy" and "Mud Fight" by The Sidewalk Sounds, "Calahan's Theme" by The Lorraine Singers, "When You Get What You Want" by Annette, and "Riot In Thunder Alley" by Eddie Beram – which is an excellent drum and sitar track that is worth the price of the album alone! LP, Vinyl record album
(Mono pressing. Cover has a cutout hold and light wear.)

Pom Pom Girls ... LP 20th Century, 1975. Near Mint- ...

One of the more obscure teen soundtracks of the 70s – with production from MikeCurb, and music from the trio of Cotton, Lloyd, & Christian – whose photo on the back cover make them look like older brothers of the kids on the front! LP, Vinyl record album

Cream/Iron Butterfly —
Savage Seven ... LP Atco, 1968. Near Mint- ...
Out Of Stock
Typical biker movie fare – but this time around played by some more famous groups! The album was put together by MikeCurb – the guy who crafted so many knock-off groups for Tower and Sidewalk biker soundtracks – and truthfully, Mike doesn't produce the work on the album by the big stars. Cream do a nicely gentle jazzy number called "Anyone For Tennis", and the fuzzy instrumental "Desert Ride" – and Iron Butterfly perform "Iron Butterfly Theme" and "Unconscious Power", plus some other instrumentals that are more in keeping with work on other Curb soundtracks. Barbara Kelly & The Morning Good do the rest of the album – very much in that instrumental rock vein that you'd get on other Curb scores – running through a pretty nice mix of instrumental tunes that includes "Savage Struggle", "The Medal", "Here Comes The Fuzz", and "Shacktown Revenge". Harley Hatcher —
Wild Wheels ... LP RCA, 1969. Near Mint- ...
Out Of Stock
A weird batch of folksy rock tunes – composed and produced by Harley Hatcher for Sidewalk Enterprises, and sounding a lot more like a Sidewalk or Tower soundtrack than something on RCA. The groups are the usual obscurities that would show up on a MikeCurb soundtrack – pictured on the back cover, but still leaving us to wonder if they really existed at all. Tracks include "Holiday Rider" by The Saturday Revue, "Jailer Let Me Go Home" and "A Hurt In My Heart" by Don Epperson, "Playin Hard To Get" by Billie & Blue, and "Wine Women & Song" by Terry Stafford. LP, Vinyl record album
