✨✧ Stanley BrothersComplete Starday/King Instrumentals – 1958 to 1965 ... CD
King/Gusto, Late 50s/Early 60s. New Copy 2CD ... Out Of Stock
All the instrumental tracks the Stanley Brothers recorded for King and Starday Records – packaged here in one nicely-priced set! The Stanley's are maybe best known for their incredible harmony vocals – which were some of the best of the postwar bluegrass generation – but their instrumental skills were fantastic, too – and they had a way of bringing together guitar and banjo that was unlike anyone else. Ralph's banjo was as dextrous as some of his contemporaries, but often almost more melodic in a mandolin-like way – and Carter's driving guitar could add a lot of vibrant energy to the music in place of the vocals. The set's overflowing with instrumental gems – and titles include "Stoney Creek", "Five String Drag", "Clinch Mountain Backstep", "Rang Tang", "Wildwood Flower", "Train 45", "Bully Of The Town", "Lonesome Traveler", "Mastertone March", "Steel Guitar Rag", "Midnight Ramble", and "Snow Deer".
